This is so well thought out and awesome.  

And so much work  I would have lost patience after the first half of the first tile.  

We moved recently (okay like 6 months ago) and I have slowly put together my craft area again.  Last week I realized I hadn't put up my bulletin board, but in a fit of 'starting anew', I took everything off of it to reveal... a very boring brown cork board. 

Since it usually takes me some time to fill my bulletin board, I thought I would do something to the background to make it more interesting to look at while it remains blank.  But what to do?  Cover with fabric?  No...

Paint it! 



The background and the bees are metallic, which does not photograph very well at all.

Some of you might have heard about the Sewing With Nature ( http://craftzine.com/sewingwithnature/ ) Contest that was held throughout January.  The results haven't been posted yet, but the contest is closed and I can post the bag I made!!! 

It took me a long time to come up with something to do, but then the answer was clear - a clutch!  In the shape of a leaf, specifically.  Because I am completely bollocks at making my own patterns, it took a long time to put together.    But I finally completed it!  I may post a tutorial if anyone is interested

It is lined, and the 'stem' of the leaf acts as a zipper.  It also has beaded dew drops, which unfortunately are hard to see in these pictures   But they're there!

Normally my cookies turn out just dandy, but I've had a batch turn out just like this!  The only thing I could think of was that I beat them too long (we have an electric mixer) to where the batter became more 'whipped' than just... stirred.  If that makes sense.  Hahaha, anyway it screwed my cookies up =/  I know the ingredients were right when I did it.  The batter was tasty! 

tl;dr:  don't whip your cookies   

pee ess:  Apparently this results in 'puffy' cookies?  It wasn't the case here, who knows.  Could be an altitude thing. 

A Christmas or two ago I received this very matronly looking white sweater from my grandmother.  Of course I instantly thought of everything I could do to it, and then left it alone for going on two years... anyway, I'm still really unsure, so I thought I'd ask you guys!  How can I destroy this. 

Apologies in advance for the... er... 'chill' I seem to have caught.  It does show I suppose how thick the sweater is.  (You can see my nipples  )

Thoughts?

Is there a way to sew it so that the threads of the fabric don't 'pull' and make it wrinkled along the seam?  I'm likely missing something very obvious here.

Love the use of the green in the syringe and the iris of the eye... it makes both items pop... Plus the placement of the eye in the corner of the pillow is fab and like a cool piece of modern art, which I love love love... I can't wait to get my patterns from Sublime, too!  Are you using the split stitch for all of your stitches, or something else for the needle of the syringe, I can't tell?

I think I used a backstitch?  I'm bad with the names of them.   

I bought the organ patterns from Sublime Stitching!  Really great.  I made a pillow for a friend.  Note the Re-Animator references.

Bloody brilliant!!! I have also been looking for an idea for an apron as a birthday gift for a friend. It being bloody (my friend is still learning to cook) is brilliant!! Do you mind if I use your idea?
