241  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gift ideas for scientists on: December 03, 2004 08:18:12 PM
For my (super) geeky friends (and me) I'm making a set of plush irrational numbers  (it goes with a story I wrote) You oculd also do the magnet thing, except with pi, phi, e, i, etc.

Love the chili!! Blue felt, hmmm... you could make blueberries or grapes or a moon or a cookie monster or a globe or a robot or a blue poison dart frog or a smurf... ok I'm out of ideas. Hope that sparked something!

Ou, those are lots of good blue felt ideas. I'm semi-thinking of covering a little journal or somesuch thing and a moon and stars would be cool on that.... I like the poison arrow dart frog idea too, I am a big fan of frogs (I think my username might be a hint of that) Thank you very much for the ideas!
244  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / red hot chili pepper on: August 04, 2004 08:02:10 AM
I was sitting at home one night and remembered that I have a huge bag of felt lying around. I was trying to think of something that I haven't seen before, and I finally came up with the idea of felt vegetables (with faces of course) Unfortunately when I retrieved my bag of felt, I realized that there weren't many good vegetable colours (but oh did I have a lot of blue) Anyways, I had just enough red to make a chili pepper (though I know those are technically fruit).

Since then I've also made an onion, parsnip (though it looks more like a white carrott), avacado, and green bell pepper. (I don't have pictures of them yet though)

Does anyone have any ideas of what I can make with the insane amounts of blue felt (two different colours even) It doesn't have to be more vegetables/fruit, it could be anything.
245  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: painting a snowboard? on: August 03, 2004 08:49:28 PM
That's an awesome page for instructions, it makes me want to go over my snowboard again. When I first got mine (it was used) it was orange. Just orange. So I took a big black permanent marker and drew some crazy spiral things on it. I haven't been able to test how well the marker stays on, because I didn't have many (ie: I had one) chance to get up to the mountain this year. I think the painting tutorial that is linked would be a much better idea.
