how did u attach the headboard to your bed? did u buy brackets for it? were they a certain type?

My (reasonably old school) metal bed frame has holes in the end of it for attaching a headboard. So when I was making this one, I measured the distance from the floor to the hole and from one hole to another and drilled corresponding holes in the MDF. The holes in the frame were conveniently 1/4", so I just got bolts, nuts and washers to use for that size hole

I had been meaning to make a headboard for quite some time, but I just finally got around to it this weekend. I vaguely followed the instruction on ReadyMade, but unlike it and most other headboard DIY instructions floating around on the internet, I decided to bolt it to my bed frame instead of mounting it to the wall. Blame it on the years of apartment living.

It is made out of MDF, polyester upholstery foam and dark brown vinyl. The whole project probably cost about $100, which is still much much cheaper than buying one and this way it matches much better. It was a fairly simple project, the only thing that was difficult was using the staple gun (I have an old mechanical one). In fact, I was unable to use it (I must need to do more push ups or something) but luckily Mike was around to be all manly and staple it for me.

That's so exciting! I love paper stuff, but I'm also a huge fan of electronic, in that it saves paper and money I think it would be cool to incorporate the lego into a wedding website, if you are making one. I'm just so smitten because I love lego and stopmotion!

Having done a bunch of small stop motion projects before, I'm totally impressed! I don't think email save the dates are taboo anyways (regardless of who you are). Though you could host it on vimeo.com, it's still free but the site it just prettier looking than youtube and it doesn't have the same amount of ads or silly comments

Some people in my class decided to start a running club and of course, being a bunch of med students, decided that an appropriate name would be the Pacemakers. We're going to get this guy screen printed on some shirts for when we run a huge 17 leg, roughly 300km relay in May.

I think my favourite is the first, but the last two look almost like they're cross-processed (a technique in film where you shoot a roll using slide film and then develop it as though it was regular film).

That's too bad about the school eliminating the illustration program. Hopefully it was just one of those title things but that most of the courses could remain the same (sort of like how my school was fancy and had a neuroscience program, even though you could be a biology major and still take all the neuro courses). What made you choose your topic for your thesis?

Wow! I've never been very good with an exacto knife, so I'm doubly impressed whenever I see someone who is. I love how it's a beautiful piece just to look at but that there's so much meaning hidden in it as well

That's such a good way to illustrate the book! There's just so much visual interest that I'm sure kids and parents will love it. What is your thesis in?

They're all so great! And I must admit, I'm a sucker for kitties. What are they stuffed with? Is it polyester batting, socks, something else? I think it would be cute to have beans or something at the end of their paws to makes them floppy!
