1  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Faux Batik (with tutorial) lots of pics on: January 06, 2012 08:36:44 AM
I did this last year with a group of children.  You can cut down on the drying time by using a hair dryer.  Just make sure you hold down or secure the fabric so the hair dryer doesn't blow it away!

love it! The contrast between the 2 elvis fabrics is great!

Thank you!  I fell in love with the Elvis fabrics when I saw them and wound up getting them at two separate times and had no clue what to make with the.  Then, being on spring break I kept thinking about how much I wanted to make the "Kate" bag and the two Elvis prints were really the only two fabrics in my stash that looked good together.

Hi everyone I just finished this bag last night (I have been working on it since Monday doing a little each night!).  I am really happy with it and it was inspired by the "Kate" bag (I'm in love with the style of this bag)by ModernGirl which can be found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=230856.0.  It is lined with a lightweight fabric (I wasn't really worried about getting a fancy print lining for the inside since it is only for myself).  I also added in a bottom and side panels of fabric to add more depth to the bag.  I have already gotten a few compliments on it, but I am more interested in what my fellow Craftster's have to say!

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Race car bag! on: March 14, 2010 02:01:14 PM
I made this bag for my cousins son.  He likes cars just like every little boy does so I made this tote bag for him to keep his trucks and cars in.  The bag is reversible and big enough to hold a lot of toys.

Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated!!!

I think your bag is very adorable and I'm sure that little girl adores it.  The fabrics are so springy and remind me of warm weather...yes, spring is finally almost here!  I like how you used the two different fabrics on the straps.  Do you know where you got the fabric?  I just love the orange flowery one.  Good job!

Hi thanks so much!  The orange and pink one was a fabric quarter from joanns and I think the orange flower one may have been as well (it was a piece my sister had from a few years back)
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Green and Blue organizer pouch on: March 13, 2010 09:19:22 AM
Hey Everyone!  Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not.  I made this to keep in my bag for school so I can organize my stuff.  It has a few slots for pens and pencils, a pocket for more pens, pencils, erasers, etc., and a spot for my scissors and double ended transfer needles for my knitting class.  It is about 8 inches tall and is closed with a ribbon.  Hope you guys like it and again please excuse the horrible pictures.

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I have posted.  I made this a few months back for a girl I babysit for her birthday... she was turning 7 or 8.  The bag is also reversible.  Sorry the pictures are so bad ... I took them really fast and it was night time so the lighting in my room was terrible - and I have no clue why they are appearing upside down and sideways.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Heart of flowers on: July 22, 2009 01:08:26 PM
I usually don't comment on stuff like this because I don't know a lot about embroidery, but this is so pretty that I had to comment!  the stitches are perfect and everything flows so nicely and looks awesome plus the heart shape is so noticeable with out it having any borders... lol I don't know if any of what I said makes any sense, but your needlepoint makes me want to go and learn how to do needle points and make an awesome one!
