So i made these for an Art show i had.  All my pieces were fairytales and teaparty themed.  so i served these little cakes and tea.

this is the first post ive included a picture in... so i hope it works.

anyway, i made this hat for my boyfriend for christmas.  it was made of a heavy tweed, and is topstitched at the seams.  i used the eugina kim "saturday night hat" book (that he actually got me for a present for my birthday!), and it was pretty simple and fun--except the part about attaching the brim and band.  but it worked out fine after a little fiddling and deciding not to follow the directions.

ok, so its sort of not really a sewing post, per se, but... 

so i made some leg warmers out of sweater sleeves--its awesome, you take one sweater, chop off the arms, and suddenly you have a sweater vest to put over a dress shirt or something, and you have the sleeves be instant leg warmers! 

anyway.  so i made some skinny jeans from the post a while back-thanks for that, btw, they ROCK!  it worked out perfectly-seriously. 

heres the question:  would you wear the kick-ass argile leg-warmers over the skinny jeans?  can we do this yet?  i did today, and i maybe felt a little out there.  but i think it looked cute.  sorry i dont have a pic-i need a camera sooo bad. 

so its a fashion question by way of a sewing post.  opinions?

for a friend.  i guess i should have taken her measurments, but i made a size 6 and its too small!  i feel so bad, because she picked out the material (it was a really pretty pink/purple boucle) and it turned out super-pretty. i also added pockets with bias trim.  i'd made it for myself before, in the sameish material, and iit seemed big for me.  but i used french seams on hers, so that probably made it smaller. 

anyway, the question is, does anyone have any ideas about how i could possibly make it a little bigger?  the bottom of the skirt has the flounce, so i dont think i should touch that, but i wast thinking of putting in a triangular panel on the side or maybe 2 in the back.  or something? 

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

this is my first ever topic ive started.  anyway, i noticed a few people have been posting some costumey things lately.  its almost halloween time!  its my favorite holiday because you get to make a costume and play dress up and go to parties.  whats not to like?  last year i had a fairy costume, with a sort of...velvet bodice that laced up the back like a corset.  and then there was a long flowy part that hung down...i need a camera, seriously. 

anyway, i was wondering if maybe people would like to post pics of their halloween costumes here, or maybe their ideas.  its about time to start thinking about what to make this year.  and i havent had any good ideas yet.
