That is awesome and definitely too pretty to see little kids beat and break open with a bat!  Grin

I'm from SoCal and I LOVE tin ceilings. When I get my dream house, I'm going all out!

P.S. If you're (or anyone else on the board) ever in Orange County, check out Old Town Orange. There's this newish cafe with yummy gelato and awesome architecture you'll appreciate. Here's their website to take a sneak peek: http://www.cafelucca.com/

I agree with changing out the cabinets if you can. YOu could probably find some really cute white ones with a retro look to them and put some cute knobs on them as already stated  Wink
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Probably the cheapest, easiest, and most colorful wall art ever! on: September 20, 2007 08:59:00 PM
That's brilliant. I love the visual effect  Smiley

Great job! I just love the colors you used! The only thing I could think of is maybe putting a white shelf centered over the counter you've got there (and maybe put your cute little canisters and/or other accesories on it).

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Re: what color would you paint on: September 09, 2007 04:40:22 AM
I think a soft color would look great.

I went onto the Sherwin Williams site, sherwin.com, and think either of these two colors would go great for the walls: Agreeable Gray 7029 or something like Icy 6534 (which is like a light periwinkle blue). If you go to the site, there's a "color visualizer" you can check out.

Lighter colors make rooms appear larger and they let a lot more light in as well. Darker colors have the opposite effect. Not to mention I'd be afraid a dark color would feel depressing and maybe even inspire scary dreams  Shocked Lighter colors are relaxing and are especially good for bedrooms because give you this clear mind kinda feeling Wink
