This is an ami that I made from a bored on the phone doodle. He has button eyes, a felt face, lots and lots of tentacles, and little watery beads.

Robots like to be precise. I embroidered this guy on a tape measure cozy. He is just a doodle.



The other side of the cozy just has some french knots and starry things. Not as neat as Mr. Roboto here. He's made from felt, embroidery thread, and sewing thread.

Making these for birthday gifts. The photos are from the tutorial on my blog (hence why one of them has scissors in the photo). These are very simple. My next one is going to have beads! Exciting!

My original partner never posted pictures of what I sent her and I forgot to take any...but trust me, it was awesome.

I received my package from chanemza on friday and boy howdy is it nice! 


This was laying on the top when I opened up the package.  How did you know I'm ALWAYS losing sewing needles?  I never can find any when I need them.

Inside the package was a large package of spanish moss and YARN!!  Which I forgot to snap a picture of. I did get the yarn in a shot with all the stuff from the jar which I pulled out next!

There are BUTTONS! I love buttons! A cross-stitch kit (which was inside the box, not the jar lol), a cute vintage H (my name starts with an H), a sweet thing of puppies in bed (which my husband thought was the cutest thing and played with it for an hour), small cross-stitch frames, some embroidery thread,  a stamp (with a flower motif), beads, ribbon, artifical flowers (sweet flowers, some of my favorite kinds!), and a really sweet gift for my mom:



Motorcycle jewelry! See, in my correspondence, chanemza asked me if I liked motorcycles and while I don't, my mom does.  She has always kept her motorcycle license even though she hasn't owned one in quite a few years.  The same day I got my package, my parents also arrived for the weekend and my mom was tickled to have received such a kind gift from someone who doesn't even know her.

And last, but definitely not least, a Florida keepsake from chanemza's home-state to my current state. 

It's no fun living in a land locked state, so this is a nice thing to have to remind me of blue skies and blue seas.

I've only been dabbling in jewelry for a few months but it's a growing obsession.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces.

This is my aunt martha pattern!  It's ginormous.  I plan on working it up as a wall-hanging for my friend for christmas.

now that i look around the crochet projects, i see quite a few brain slugs.  hmmm.  guess i'm not that original lol. 

at any rate, the day before halloween my husband suggests we go to the rocky horror picture show halloween screening at which there is a costume contest.  being the futurama fan that i am, i thought it would be hilarious to show up with brain slugs on our heads with a third one we could try to stick on people all night.  with less than 24 hours, i churned out three of these bad boys.  technically less than five hours given i have a full time job and i have to sleep sometime. 

so here is my husband sporting my instant creation.  made it up as i went.  just watching some good ole futurama for inspiration.

edit:  i should add that i used a whole skein of redheart sport in limeade and a "f" hook.  white felt for the eye with a black bead attached to the middle with clear nylon beading thread.

hello folks.  New to craftster and kinda new to crochet.  I was taught how to chain around age 8 and I immediately chained everything I could for years.  I'm 24 now and really just getting into patterns and actually making things. I've made the inevitable scarf (actually...loads of scarves) and a small afghan. But now I'm branching out into amigurumi and more wearable/functioning pieces for the house.  Such is the way of things. 

So, on to the pictures!

I'm making a whole set of dishrags and towels for the kitchen because my current ones are getting thin and ragged. 

Nothing special. Just a little crocheted square made out of lilly sugar 'n' cream. 

Normally I am much livlier in posts but alas I am suffering from the sinus infection that happens every time the seasons change.
