1  Zombie Pumpkin Display in Halloween Decor and Parties by crazykittylady on: October 28, 2010 11:47:02 AM
BRRAAAAIIIIIINNNNNSSSS.....oops, I mean SSSEEEEEEEDDDDSSSSSS....

I've had this little shoebox full of awesome (those would be Attack of the Living Dead figures by the way) tucked away for a while now waiting for an equally awesome craft project and well, I finally got off my tuchas and did something with it!

I started with a funkin (that's a fake pumpkin for those of you not in the know) that I scored for an extra discount since it was damaged (yay pre-Halloween clearance!).

I drew where I wanted to cut (around the damage) my opening for my scene and carved away. It's times like this I had better knives...or at least a real pumpkin carving kit.

Once it was all cut up I had to do a lot of cleanup. Funkin dust EVERYWHERE!

At this point I painted it black with acrylic paint and let it dry. Since the inside of this funkin had a gloss to it, the paint didn't stick well and I got this really great crackled effect. Not what I was going for, but perfect none the less!

Once it was dry I put a layer of spanish moss in the bottom, placed my figures (with a bit of glue), added a couple battery operated tea lights for illumination and finished it off with a few fake maggots.

In the words of Mr. Craftapus;

"Mrs. Craftapus, your pumpkin is really freaking creepy. I hope you're happy."

 ...why yes, yes I am.

xoxo,
The Craftapus

I just received! I freaking love everything! And the way it was set up was awesome!

Basically, CostumeMistress labeled each item with a number and had me open them up in order, and they each had details about the item(s) and instructions on how to proceed. For example, the wine charms said to open up a bottle of wine and enjoy a glass as I opened the next package. Such a clever idea!

Here is a group shot (sorry for the crappy photos, I suck at using my new camera!). I stole some pics from CostumeMistress's blog.

Included was:
*A La Tuo Cantanta (your singer) Journal with book cover shrinkies on the bookmark perfect for my swap journal! Smiley

*A copy of Twilight with pop up pictures and custom sketches (hehe, I love this sooo much!)

*Cullen family (plus Bella) wine charms. Adorable! I love the little charms on each one, so fitting! You can't really tell from the picture, but the Alice one is dice.

*Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse red glass etched candle holders with vanilla candles. Smells yummy like Edward!

*A Jacob hot pack (good and soothing) This will be great for my next "un vampire friendly time of the month" if you know what I mean.

*A painted and embroidered Edward/Alice cold pack (equally soothing, but in a more vamp-tastic sort of way) It's in my freezer now...can't wait to use it!

*A lion book thong. It's so funny, I did a lion themed item for her as well. Smiley

*A Edward (crystal heart) Jacob (paw print) phone charm

I'm calling it tempation....I know real orginal.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it:
for in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die.

Genesis 2:17

Sketched on canvas:

In progress:

Mostly finished...but not dry yet.

You can't really tell from the pictures but the hands have a pearlescent finish and the apple is glossy.

I had to take this last one with my phone. My camera's being poopy.

Made of Moonstone and Amethyst beads.

You can't really see his moonstones since they match his fluffy chest. He's also got a little heart tag on there.

9  Breezy Summer Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by crazykittylady on: March 30, 2008 05:19:34 PM
I used Simplicity Pattern 2969. It's supposed to be "sew easy" but I had a bit of trouble working with the interlocking knit. The back's still a bit wonky, but I think I can fix it. I love the fabric I put on the bottom. You can't really tell from the picture, but it's batik fabric patch worked together.

I finally got a camera, so here's the long awaited pics of my stuff (including the necklaces and bracelet). Sorry, it's not the best pic. I'm still trying to get used to the camera.
