1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / A new spin on a time-honored holiday decoration on: December 10, 2008 09:47:29 AM
I love nutcrackers. But I'm not a fan of the traditional colors with which many of them are painted. I have four or five nutcrackers that I haven't put out in a few years since they don't match my decor ... or really my wacky style in general. But I hated to see them just lying there in a box, waiting until next year ... when I probably wouldn't display them ... AGAIN! Since it *is* the season of giving and all ( Wink ), I decided to give these guys new life, with a little paint, some yarn and clay, a sprinkle or 80 of glitter ... and *a lot* of style!   Grin And now, the two completed nutcrackers are proudly displayed, front and center, on my mantel. I can't wait to finish the others!

This is a great way to recycle old, worn-out nutcrackers. I'd love your feedback, as always!

2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Wreaths that are knit ... I mean *fit* ... for the nifty knitter 12/10: NEW PICS on: December 02, 2008 07:08:43 AM
Here is my "latest and greatest" in wreath making. I used a styrofoam wreath form, and just started working my way around ... with lots of hot glue. These things take *tons* of Christmas ornaments -- and *many* hours of gluing.  Cheesy

The "knitting needles" were made from chopsticks and wooden doll heads.

These are really a lot of fun to make, and I think they turn out so cool. I might have found a new favorite pasttime ... at least for another month or so. Of course, these could be displayed year-round. That's another thing that I think makes 'em so cool.

Without further ado ...

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Don't be so shady! [IMG HEAVY] on: November 26, 2008 06:28:12 AM
I've spent the better part of the past few weeks creating a new line of my "Shady Ladies" (named for their "lampshade hats" for the holidays. I spent loads of time on these, handmaking gumdrop beads and peppermint candies from clay, etc. etc.

My husband made me promise that I wouldn't buy any new supplies, so I had to make do with what I had. That made me get awful creative! Heh.

They're sassy. And they're oh-so-loveable. Here they are:

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / These wreaths have balls! NEW WREATH pics added 12/2 on Page 2!! on: November 26, 2008 06:16:38 AM
So, these were kind of accidents. I recently made a large wreath like these to hang above my mantel, then I planned to accent that wreath with candle rings. One of my candle rings turned out great. These two, however, kept growing ... and growing ... and growing ... until they finally, well, turned into wreaths themselves. Talk about taking on a life of their own!!  Wink

I'd love your feedback on them.

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Teapot ~ A Silly Collage *with a cute quote* on: February 21, 2008 05:24:59 AM

7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Queen of Hearts ~ Another Silly Collage on: February 20, 2008 07:25:52 AM
She's a day late and a dollar short for Valentine's Day. But, still, she wanted a grand debut. So here she is, the Queen of Hearts...

I'd love any feedback, as always!!

8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Be You ~ My Favorite Silly Collage Yet on: February 11, 2008 05:00:58 PM
So maybe this one speaks to me more than it will anyone else, but she knocks my socks off (if I must say so myself). Nevertheless, critiques (and glorious gushing comments) are *always* welcome!  Wink Cheesy

Seriously, tell me what you think, won't you?

9  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / I don't care what you call me -- just call me ~ Silly Collage on: February 11, 2008 06:28:31 AM
Hey, guys! This collage is for my girlfriend for her 30th birthday.

Whaddya think of her?

10  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / At least it Seemed Like a Good Idea ~ A *MoDiFiEd* Collage on: February 04, 2008 07:24:19 AM
The modified collage can be seen below, a few comments down. Better? Worse? The same??

Okay, so I'm not feelin' this one either -- I think I'll stick to my painted faces mostly -- but it still cracks me up. And I wanted to still post it to get some feedback from you professionals.  Wink

Here she is; what's really hilarious about this one, at least to me, is that the photo (excluding the finger) is of my great-grandmother, who died before I was born -- everybody jokes that this is how I'm gonna look when I'm older. I *adore* her glasses! Cheesy
