1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Newly Done Composition Notebooks (Super Easy!) on: August 02, 2005 12:23:01 PM
Love the last one!  I heart using scraps of patterns and such like you did there, but i usually tear the edges so that some of the white from the inner fibers of the paper show through... I love how you cut the paper into the triangle shapes.  It looks really great.

Can I ask... is the mirror from Ikea?  They have little unfinished mirrors that look like that... I keep meaning to go buy a whole bunch and decorate them.

Yours is very cute!  I like the embellishments and the swirlies!  Smiley
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: we're reaching a milestone on: July 31, 2005 04:24:49 PM
For my 1 year anniversary with my boyfriend, I made him a sorta comic book thing.  I bought a blank bound sketchbook from Border's, and drew pictures on each page, cartoon style.  There wasn't really a running story, but I drew cartoons of us from different times and events of our relationships.  We were in high school at the time, so I drew him asking me to Homecoming, us dressed up in our fancy dance duds, me going to his soccer games, etc.  I am definitely not a good cartoonist, but it was easy enough to do very simple caricatures of each of us.  I wrote a letter to him on the first page about how much he meant to me.  For the cover, I cut out little pictures from magazines of things that represented each of us or our relationship, and mod podge'd it up.  He really liked it, and it was so fun to make!

Maybe you can add in a few drawings or cartoons of you and your bf to supplement your lack of actual photographs.  They can be as detailed or as abstract as you want, depending on your skill with the pen and paper.

Congrats on your 1 year!  I'm sure your bf will love what you make him!
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Movie themed wedding on: July 31, 2005 12:01:44 AM
What a wonderful theme!  A quick web search led me to this website:

http://www.plumparty.com/partysupplies/moviefavors.html

I think you could at least get some good inspiration from the things they have... Some things are pretty silly/weird, but I particularly liked the molded chocolates... Not sure if you are into that, but it would be cute and yummy!  Maybe little stars... and if you could somehow put them in little tins that looked like movie reel tins...

The CDs are cute too, and you could make those and cute cases... I'm thinking great love songs from movie soundtracks.

Another good idea I've seen is to do buffets of different yummy sweets... Maybe you could have big containers of classic movie candies and empty bags for your guests to fill themselves.  Or, have them already filled and ready to be picked up.

There are SO many details to attend to and get lost in when planning your wedding... But it sounds like you have a good start and some good ideas.  Congratulations!

I agree - love the pew arrangements!

I'm going to be married soon, and my boyfriend and I are on a tiny budget. (read: we're poor college students)  Your beautiful work on a small budget is a great inspiration to me!

And I love the goldfish!   Grin
10  COOKING / Dessert / Re: cake decorating - come share!! on: November 12, 2004 05:14:01 PM
Those are beautiful!  I have never tried my hand at fancy decorating like that, but I always linger a long time in the aisles that have all the Wilton books and supplies.  Your cookies and cakes are beautiful - I am astounded at the amount of detail you put into them.  Nice work!
