Check out the Sertoma Arts center in Raleigh.  They have pottery classes and kiln schedules, I believe.

Wow, love them both!  I've been wanting to make something with grommets like that, and I love they way you did this!

I love it!  No one will notice any mistakes, that's for sure.

I found a tutorial on how to sew bias tape using your machine, and it's made me less hesitant to use bias tape.  It's on Amy Karol's blog, she wrote the book "Bend the Rules Sewing", and it's an entertaining little clip:

Betty was carrying a HUGE one of these on Ugly Betty last night.   Love them, and yours looks really great!

I just snuck a peak at your blog and realized I have been admiring your work in various forums not realizing it was the same person each time.  (I feel a bit like an unintentional stalker now!) Your gorgeous dolls and Fairy Tale sculpture were the first two I recognized.  This bag is super cute.  I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!
6  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Re: Question about sewing seatbelt webbing on: April 24, 2008 04:50:20 PM
I have made that bag.  Several of them, actually.  For a single or double thickness of the webbing, my regular old sewing machine was fine.  When I got to the top piece and the handles, I needed to switch to my industrial machine.  It had no trouble with the webbing.  I also make dog collars so I figured it would. Smiley

As for what type of industrial machine, I personally would recommend seeing if you can find an older model via craigslist or the like.  I purchased a Singer industrial machine from the 1960s and I love it (mine's a model 188K).  I call her Belinda. Smiley   I had looked at "heavy duty" singers in the local sewing shop, but the salesman even told me that Singers weren't made as well as they used to.   Plus at $150 old Belinda was a steal.  (Although she does sound like a truck and shakes the floor when I turn her on).

The Wire Fox caught my eye immediately, we had one when I was a kid (sassy dogs!)  Most terriers have a similar build, so I don't think anyone would have known it was a Lakie had you not told us!  Excellent job, she'll love it!
