221  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A ruffled tank for my wee princess! on: March 13, 2010 12:48:47 PM
I found this pattern on knitty.com http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring07/PATTmonica.html and I LOVE it. It was so quick to make. I made it in a few nights and my daughter loves it!

222  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My half of a swap with sunflowersmiles on: March 12, 2010 05:42:19 AM
Here's my half. She's making me an art doll for my little girl! Can't wait!

Les clats
8x10 acrylic and mixed media on stretched canvas
223  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Fun little 3D painting experiment on: March 07, 2010 10:28:21 AM
I had fun doing this little painting. I made the face and the little medallion at the bottom out of polymer clay and then used spackle for texture. It was a neat little experiment with texture.

224  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Shopping tote...a really big one! on: March 05, 2010 08:16:50 AM
I just finished this shopping tote. It's HUGE. I could fit so much more in this...

I knit it in a few nights, so it was a quick project. Here it is if anyone wants it Smiley http://www.blogster.com/nittineedles/goin-green-shopping-bag
225  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A fairy with a secret!! on: February 25, 2010 04:52:13 PM
I decided to do something a little different this time. She has a face, for starters lol. And I used a little less texture than I normally do, and I extended the wing beyond the parameter of the canvas, just for fun. It''s just a super thick plastic, and I used a spray adhesive.

Thanks for looking!
226  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A mermaid... on: February 22, 2010 09:24:58 AM
Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...
Ever since I was little, I drew mermaids and fairies. Kinda cool that 30 years later, I'm still interested in the same things!

Here's a smaller piece than what I've been up to lately. She's 10" x 3". Acrylic and mixed media on wood.

Thanks for looking!
227  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mirabelle - art doll on: February 17, 2010 10:23:03 AM
So, I decided I wanted to try my hand at a jointed art doll. Here's what I've come up with. This is Mirabelle. She stands about 18 inches tall. Her dress is made from an old pillow case. I love dragonflies! As always, made without the use of molds and my paper pulp is all my own recipe. You can see her stages on my blog if you want to have a peek!

Thanks for  looking!
228  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Live like you are Dying on: February 14, 2010 07:36:27 PM
8x10 acrylic and mixed media. I haven't done skulls in a while, but they used to be something I had to do a lot of! (I design guitar straps and it kinda goes with the territory). Anyhow, I love the symbolism in this one. Death and rebirth. Skulls are totally subjective. Read into them as you wish! That's what I like about them. They can be creepy, or they can just remind you of the circle of life.

229  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / The Stars Shine for Her on: February 11, 2010 10:23:21 AM
Here's my newest! I really like how she turned out. She makes me smile. As you all probably know...I LOVE colour!!!

230  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My half of the personal swap with Spooky Pooky on: February 09, 2010 02:38:14 PM
Spooky Pooky and I decided to do a personal swap, and here's what I've come up with as per her requests. It's of herself and her fiance in her chosen wedding colours. And might I just add that I totally love that girl. She couldn't be more adorable and wonderfully unique!!!!
