221  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A mermaid... on: February 22, 2010 09:24:58 AM
Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...Under the Sea...
Ever since I was little, I drew mermaids and fairies. Kinda cool that 30 years later, I'm still interested in the same things!

Here's a smaller piece than what I've been up to lately. She's 10" x 3". Acrylic and mixed media on wood.

Thanks for looking!
222  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Mirabelle - art doll on: February 17, 2010 10:23:03 AM
So, I decided I wanted to try my hand at a jointed art doll. Here's what I've come up with. This is Mirabelle. She stands about 18 inches tall. Her dress is made from an old pillow case. I love dragonflies! As always, made without the use of molds and my paper pulp is all my own recipe. You can see her stages on my blog if you want to have a peek!

Thanks for  looking!
223  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Live like you are Dying on: February 14, 2010 07:36:27 PM
8x10 acrylic and mixed media. I haven't done skulls in a while, but they used to be something I had to do a lot of! (I design guitar straps and it kinda goes with the territory). Anyhow, I love the symbolism in this one. Death and rebirth. Skulls are totally subjective. Read into them as you wish! That's what I like about them. They can be creepy, or they can just remind you of the circle of life.

224  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / The Stars Shine for Her on: February 11, 2010 10:23:21 AM
Here's my newest! I really like how she turned out. She makes me smile. As you all probably know...I LOVE colour!!!

225  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My half of the personal swap with Spooky Pooky on: February 09, 2010 02:38:14 PM
Spooky Pooky and I decided to do a personal swap, and here's what I've come up with as per her requests. It's of herself and her fiance in her chosen wedding colours. And might I just add that I totally love that girl. She couldn't be more adorable and wonderfully unique!!!!
226  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A painting that I started a few weeks ago... on: February 06, 2010 12:08:18 PM
...and finished up this morning. A little nervous about showing this one.

I based it on this pic of Lindsay Lohan. No I'm not a LaLohan fan, but I just thought it was a pretty pic Smiley
227  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Season Change - mixed media and acrylic on: February 04, 2010 09:46:06 AM
All sorts of glorious texture in this piece...including two vintage buttons sewn on for good measure Smiley
228  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A whole bunch of Goddess sculptures. on: January 31, 2010 10:27:23 AM
These pieces were all either commission pieces, or sold in galleries and boutiques!  Hope you like! I loved creating them. I felt a strong connection to them all!!

BTW - they're all papier mache and homemade paper pulp. No molds were used. All one of a kind.

229  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Two sisters - mixed media and acrylic on canvas on: January 30, 2010 07:13:57 AM
It was super hard to get a good pic of this painting. The scanner's not good because of the depth of the painting...the background gets blurry. Using the flash on the camera makes it lose detail...I needed to wait until there was the perfect amount of natural light! Anyhow, this doesn't capture how brilliant the colour is, but you get the idea. It's 8x10
230  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / If Looks Could Kill - shadow box with little polka dot dress on: January 28, 2010 12:53:24 PM
I made this tiny little dress for my sister for her birthday this Sunday! It's papier mache Smiley
