EdelC and I did a swap. She's made me a poppet (yay!!) and I've done this painting for her. It's a little washed out in the straight on shot, but is more accurate in vibrancy in the angle shot. Hope she likes it! As always, I'm really nervous!!!!
I initially made these costumess for Halloween, but they quickly turned into playtime fun costumes! They have lots of fun playing dress-up in these. These are my own patterns. They came out perfect the first try! I was pretty proud of these. There was a lot of sketching involved in these blueprints, and I was pretty impressed that I made no errors.
I don't know if baking goes in this category, but just thought I'd share this idea with you all. Since most of us have enormous amounts of chocolate left over, why not chop it up and use it as chunks in your baking? I'm baking a batch of white and milk chocolate chunk cookies right now!
I found this great Easter wreath tutorial ( http://debbie-doodlings.blogspot.com/2010/03/at-it-again-more-easter-egg-wreaths.html ) and decided to give it a whirl. Super easy. You just cut out a cardboard circle and then use a hot glue gun to stick the plastic eggs on, fill it in with that shredded plastic stuff, add a bow, et voila! But since I don't even know the name for the shredded plastic stuff, it might be advisable for you to visit this tutorial...cuz she's a little better at explaining it than I am! lol
I'm a knitter who's been wanting to learn how to crochet forever, so I learned how to crochet last week (well, I kinda knew how to do stitches but I never knew their names...not sure how that happened, but it did, and it made it impossible to follow a pattern). My friend's mom just sort of told me the names of the stitches. I went to the library and found the book Super Cute Crochet and set to work. Within two days, this pony was born. I must say...I'm pretty darn proud. Crochet shaping is so much easier than knitting shaping, and I think a little more effective. I think I've found a new addiction. (sigh - like I needed ANOTHER one!!!)
I don`t know if this is in the right place or not, but I`ve organized a stitch n bitch group in the St. James/Unicity area of Winnipeg. We meet Wednesday nights from 7-9ish at the Daily Grind coffee house ( http://www.dailygrind.ca/Location.htm ). Open to anyone interested. We have knitters and crocheters! It's a great, quaint coffee house, complete with comfy couches!
