My friend's birthday dinner is tonight and she's a huge Nickelback fan (don't judge lol). I wanted to make something special for her. I started perusing online tutorials for sewing projects and stumbled across the website freeneedle.com. Wow. TONS of tutorials and patterns!! Anyhow, I came across this tutorial on there
http://tousledday.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/stvarno-super-majica-ruffled-one.html and I decided that I wanted to make one of these for her. I took a trip to the local Goodwill to find some cool graphic t's that I may use. I thought, 'Wouldn't it be awesome if I found a Nickelback concert t!'. Lo and behold, I found one right away (ask and you shall receive - I just needed a little creative visualization). I also grabbed a plain grey t for the contrasting ruffles. Both t's together cost $3. I took them home, washed them, and got to work. I followed the tutorial except for the raw edge around the top. This, I encased in fold-over elastic for a better fit and durability. T-shirt jersey stretches too much to leave raw for a neck line if you ask me.
So there you have it! Easy project. Custom designed t-shirt in under and hour for $3!
I hope you like it!

Here you can see the fold-over elastic working its magic!
