31  Men's XL concert t to women's ruffled cute t - with link to tute in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by FoxyBlue on: May 15, 2013 06:17:33 AM
My friend's birthday dinner is tonight and she's a huge Nickelback fan (don't judge lol). I wanted to make something special for her. I started perusing online tutorials for sewing projects and stumbled across the website freeneedle.com. Wow. TONS of tutorials and patterns!! Anyhow, I came across this tutorial on there http://tousledday.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/stvarno-super-majica-ruffled-one.html and I decided that I wanted to make one of these for her. I took a trip to the local Goodwill to find some cool graphic t's that I may use. I thought, 'Wouldn't it be awesome if I found a Nickelback concert t!'. Lo and behold, I found one right away (ask and you shall receive - I just needed a little creative visualization). I also grabbed a plain grey t for the contrasting ruffles. Both t's together cost $3. I took them home, washed them, and got to work. I followed the tutorial except for the raw edge around the top. This, I encased in fold-over elastic for a better fit and durability. T-shirt jersey stretches too much to leave raw for a neck line if you ask me.

So there you have it! Easy project. Custom designed t-shirt in under and hour for $3!

I hope you like it!

Here you can see the fold-over elastic working its magic!

32  Yet another upcycle for my wee one! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: May 10, 2013 03:29:49 PM
I made the skirt from an old adult tank top. I made the white sash from another tank top and I also made the robin applique and added a lace trim around the bottom. The brown t-shirt was just an old one of hers that I revamped with a bow tie Smiley

33  My dress and her t-shirt up cycled into a dress for her! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: May 10, 2013 05:10:30 AM
So I took an old dress of mine and a long sleeved t-shirt that she had outgrown and turned it into a cool little dress for her. She wanted an asymmetrical hem line on the skirt, so I did it, but I would do it differently next time. Oh well...all learning curves, right? And she loves it, so that's all that matters!

34  An array of elastic bandanas - with link to tute in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: May 08, 2013 04:12:04 PM
My sweet little ginger loves these bandanas so I indulged her Smiley The awesome thing about it is that due to these awesome $.50 grab bags of fabric ends at Fabricland, I picked up a ton of different fabrics for a headband extravaganza!

Merci, fancybutch! Je l'aime beaucoup et je vais l'utiliser chaque jour!

36  Re: One Little Pincushion swap gallery in The Swap Gallery by FoxyBlue on: April 18, 2013 03:28:05 PM
They are AMAZING!! Wow! I love foxes (well d'uh - I guess everyone figured that out! Ha ha). They're both so unique and gorgeous. Nice work, girls!

I also received today. Feast your eyes on this beauty! As you can guess, I like to paint. My partner honed right in on my love for this. It is needle felted! Her first time needlefelting! Can you believe that!? Thank you pottermouth. So much!! Amazingly thoughtful!

The quote across it, which I find so beautiful is 'This world is but a canvas to our imagination'. Beautiful! BTW - what is the weight you put in it? I love it!

37  A lined, pocketed, personaliz tote bag that reminds me I'm still the QUEEN!! lol in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by FoxyBlue on: April 11, 2013 05:28:59 AM
I've been feeling a little glum lately. I thought it might help if I made myself a prezzie. So I made a bag with an embroidered drawing of me with a crown lol. The bag is fully lined and has a zippered pocket Smiley

38  AG/Journey Girl clothing in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: April 06, 2013 04:32:41 PM
I made a whole bunch of clothes for my daughter's Journey Girl (Canadian Toys R US brand, I think) for Christmas. I forgot to post them until now! There were more but I can't find the pics! They were all Liberty Jane pattern. I had fun making them, and I'm pretty sure she had fun receiving them Smiley

The first t-shirt has my own artwork on it!

39  Personalized gift bag/lunch bag/tote bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by FoxyBlue on: April 06, 2013 02:21:11 PM
It's my friend's birthday party tonight and I bought her this tiny little wrought iron mermaid at this little antique store and wanted to present it in a pretty way for her. What better than a fully lined little tote (perfect for lunches once it's done its job as a gift bag) with her named embroidered on it?
