24  More Inktense art - VIXEN! (and a few others!) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: October 08, 2014 02:28:48 PM
As you have likely noticed, I have a growing addiction to Inktense Pencils. They're very much like watercolour pencils, and yet they are called Ink Pencils. At any rate, they're AWESOME and I'm totally in love. They're totally renewing my art inspiration!!

28  Can you find the 'I love you' hidden in the zentangles? in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: September 24, 2014 04:18:50 AM
I've had an extremely dry spell when it comes to painting lately. Out of necessity, I painted this. It's my husband's birthday and he loves elephants. This piece is 12x8 (I think) mixed media on mixed media paper Smiley There's a secret 'I love you' message hidden in it. Can you find it?

And here it is framed!

30  Gross to great! Antique bench! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by FoxyBlue on: July 21, 2014 04:09:23 PM
For our whole 13 year relationship, my husband has had no interest in getting creative with me. I always did it alone. All of a sudden, he has gotten inspired and we are a crafty team and I couldn't be happier. It's so exciting for me to have a partner in crime and he's proud of the sense of accomplishment. It's a win-win!!

So anyhow, we've been hitting up garage sales looking for cool things to redo. We came across this very old, very yucky bench. The fabric was gross and falling apart, but I saw the possibilities. My husband didn't, but he went along with it. So, we went to the fabric store and chose this pretty geometric fabric and went to work! We are so happy with how it turned out. It has a whole new life.

Whenever I buy old things, I like to imagine who owned them before. I love that these pieces have history. It makes me happy Smiley

Here's the dreaded 'before':

Here's my hubby hard at work:

Here's the 'after':

And here's a pic of my Mischa taking ownership:

Hope you enjoyed!
