181  My daughter's big girl bedroom!! (img heavy) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: September 19, 2010 07:34:42 AM
So I went on kijiji and found this amazing old bedroom set (probably as old as me!) for $300. The whole thing! It's so sturdy and beautiful and made of REAL WOOD! lol Imagine that??? Furniture made with real wood? Crazy...

One chest, one dresser, one bed, one desk, one side table, and the corner unit. $300!!! Yeah!! Woo hoo! Anyhow this is how it looked in the end! I just love her little room. It makes me happy!
Her enjoying her room

Sitting at her desk with her new chalk board:

Her wall with various art. Cameos of her that I made last winter, antique dolls that belonged to her grandmother, a birdie painting I did for her, a little house I made from an old book, and a painting done by her when she was only a year and a half old...

Her creative space:

Checking out her new bed

Her heirloom tea party chandelier:

Her memory quilt made by my mom and I and plush toys made by myself and friends:

Story time with Daddy:

Notice her tinkerbell lamp in the back. The one Disney decoration I allow in her room.

A froggy painting by Spooky Pooky up beside the window:

Thanks for looking!!

183  My ugly to pretty bedroom (before & after) in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: September 15, 2010 02:03:17 PM
We've been in our house for four whole years and I FINALLY got my room mostly done.
I'll show you the pretty pics first and then the uglies. So it's the after and befores...
Firstly, my tree mural. You can't see it, but it glitters. I LOVE glitter!!! And mind the brass lamp...it's going to get revamped eventually!

And the nastiness from before...I forgot to take pics until after we already got started, but you get the idea...

184  A few paintings and a sketch in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: September 14, 2010 02:24:03 PM
I have some relatively new and some somewhat older paintings that I kind of want to display in my room...only I'm stumped. I just don't know how to hang the rest and I don't want to just hammer randomly as I JUST finished painting my room and it was a LOT of work. So anyway, some paintings and a sketch...and some wonderful art by my 3 year old daughter Smiley

And last but definitely not least, my daughter's masterpiece!! She called it 'Six'

185  While digging around in my basement... in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: September 07, 2010 05:28:54 PM
I found her! I forgot all about making this...must be around 4-5 years ago. I guess I was feeling lighthearted at the time Smiley I think I might hang her somewhere...

186  hospital gown for my niece in ICU in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by FoxyBlue on: August 26, 2010 11:40:50 AM
My niece got in a tragic car accident last week. We were inches away from losing her. She'll be in the hospital for months for rehabilitation and what not. I made her this hospital gown because she would hate to be seen in those hospital-issued ones. I couldn't find any patterns online that I liked, so I reconstructed this from an old men's dress shirt. I cut the sleeves to a desired length, cut off the button hole and button band, and used the back for the front by cutting a V for the v neck. I made some bias tape and concealed the sleeve and collar edges. I lengthened it by cutting straight across the bottom and adding panels of cool fabric, and made some lam bias tape for the bottom. I widened it by added panels to the back and adding ribbon for tying, and also, between the two panels are 6 velcro tabs to keep her little behind well-hidden Smiley

I really like how it turned out. I'm flying back to see her tomorrow and will be giving it to her then. Hopefully when she wakes up, it will make her smile...

187  Crayon roll for party favours! **tutorial link found!** in Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: August 11, 2010 03:33:57 PM
I made 13 of these as party favours (instead of dollar store toy-filled loot bags that break the next day) for the children who came to my daughter's 3rd birthday party. The kids (and the parents!) loved them Smiley http://nested.typepad.com/blog/2007/07/materials-you-w.html

All rolled up in the bowl Smiley

188  Car seat organizer! in Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: August 09, 2010 12:53:50 PM
Our family is taking a loooooooooooooooooong road trip home to Toronto this week and wanted to make some car organizer for the kids. Two of the kids are going to have to fight over one, but there isn't a third seat in the front, so it will have to do! lol Anyhow, I found the pattern here: http://www.themayfly.com/weblog/2007/10/the_car_organizer_howto.html . I believe someone else here has posted theirs from this pattern, too, but here's mine! Mind my dirty car. Having three kids is not conducive to cleanliness! lol

189  My little apron! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by FoxyBlue on: August 09, 2010 12:45:18 PM
I made this for my little lady the other day. She seems to like it Smiley. I didn't follow a pattern, but you can probably just figure out how to do it by looking at it...very simple!
