11  My Daryl Dixon Walking Dead hand painted pumpkin in Halloween Decor and Parties by FoxyBlue on: October 10, 2016 04:16:27 PM
I've been painting my pumpkins for the last couple of years. This year, I dedicate my pumpkin to Norman Reedus (aka Daryl Dixon). I love the Walking Dead and I can't WAIT until the season premiere. Can you tell?

12  A 16x20" tattooed mermaid painting in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: September 11, 2016 04:37:04 PM
I haven't posted in quite some time, but I have been on a very creative streak for a long time, working woth mostly water colours. This time I deviated and painted with acrylics.  I've been working on her for 3 days and I'm pretty happy with how she turned out!

13  Tiny water colour fairy painting printed into a huge poster! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: June 23, 2016 07:07:24 PM
I painted a tiny little fairy piece on water colour paper (pictured on right) and took it to my friend who printed it onto 25.25x33.5" glossy paper. I love how it turned out. I didn't alter the image digitally at all, so I'm shocked at how clear and colourful it looks...especially given that all I did was take a picture with my iPhone and emailed it to her!

14  Fancy snail mail for a friend who moved away in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: June 14, 2016 04:39:52 AM
I decided to create some fun snail mail for my friend who moved away. So much more exciting than texts or email! I just sketched it in pencil and coloured it with my beloved copic-style markers ☺️ At the last minute, I decided that the back was too plain and I added an oyster with a gem pearl  Grin

15  Pet portrait! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: June 03, 2016 03:39:44 AM
I train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and one of my best friends and training partners is moving away for work for a year or two. She has to leave her loving little dog behind in the care of her boyfriend and it's killing her, so I thought a pet portrait would be a perfect parting gift. I'm not sure that I have even drawn or painted a dog in my life, so this was completely new to me, but I'm kinda happy with how it turned out. I think I mostly captured Nyla's likeness. I can see a few areas where I could have done better, but overall, I'm happy. I wanted to make it pop artish to keep it cool and fresh. As it turns out, my friend fell head over heels for the art, so I'm thrilled!

It was drawn in copic markers on marker paper

I hope you like!

16  Bumble Bee Mandala accent table make-over! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by FoxyBlue on: May 25, 2016 02:01:14 PM
My friend gave me this beat-up antique accent table/stool  last year, knowing that I would find something creative to do with it. It took me a while to get inspired, but I finally did! For some reason, I love painting bumblebees on furniture and I really love mandalas, so a bumblebee mandala was a no-brainer on this little round gem Smiley I was trying to load more pics to show progress pics and other angles but it won't allow me from my phone. If I get to my computer any time soon, I will load them then!

17  Mandala Woman 3D Mixed Media on Artist panel in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by FoxyBlue on: April 28, 2016 05:39:09 PM
I had gotten away from my highly textured art for a while, because, let's face it, I want to try new things every single day. And then I came across some air dry clay at Marshalls and got a burst of inspiration. I bought it, took it home, and got to sculpting. I let the face and the little accents dry (cure?) and then I glued them to the panel, sealed them with tissue paper and glue, and the primed and painted to my little heart's content. I'm kind of happy with how she turned out. I have some ideas for some other ones that I may or may not do. It really depends on my attention span which is really lacking these days. I'm like a ferret on meth. Sigh.

Thanks for looking!
