1  Re: IYP 10: The Craftster Cotillion Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by jpoparock on: November 23, 2008 05:09:31 PM
I recieved from pogo! I love her, by the way.

Pogo and I worked in a scheme where we had vauge list of criteria to meet. These included things like, something local, something litterary, something psychological, something sewn, senders choice, and a few more that I can't quite remember. (I know, thats bad.)

A rapunzel scarf in my favourite shades of pink and black. Very snuggly, very warm, and very loved. *is wearing it now*

Extra's! Piratical and steam-punk-esque thingumabobs. I love them. The hangers and being decorated for the uni-flat tree, and then taken home for a place of honour on my folks tree. It are law, as stated in piratical articles.

Linked!
The above is linked because its not suitable for younger people. I have an on-going joke with my flat-mate that Freud's manbits come alive at night, looking like a zombie, in search of young women's mind to violate and corrupt. I have no idea where it came from, but it amuses us to no end, so Pogo made me a Freud's Manbits Hand-puppet (my something psychological, as it be Freud.)

A sewn wrist cuff with buttons and clock fabric. Steam-punk and practical for me. I can't wear jewellry because I'm allergic to nickel, so its really hig-priced metals or titanium for me. Now I have a snazzy wrist thing to wear and not worry I'll break out! I love it.

Another thing I'm allergic to is bugs, especially Lady-birds. I do however, think they are adorable. This is a crochetted Lady-bird book-mark, designed to be large so it will be useful in my text-books when I'm revising. I've already used it to make out a page with some relevant information regarding my final year project! Its also very soft and I find myself snuggling it regularly.

Hand-made cards with pictures of thing Pogo had taken herself. I love them! I don't want to use them because they're adorable and I think they should be framed instead Cheesy Also, my knee. Apparently, it likes to get in the picture.

A handy tool belt! okay, not a tool belt. Pogo researched Victorians and found that they often wore little bags under their clothing. So she made me this! It was her first attempt at embroidery (and it is WAY neater than mine) so it has a steam-punk gear on it. I use it for catching, holding and otherwise carrying cotons, scissors, needles (in a book), measureing tape and china-markers (one black one white) around with me when I'm crafting now. It's become a permanent attachment to me sewing kit, and I honestly don't know how on earth I managed without it! Its made from some really funky, study material too.

I think thats everything... Pogo, let me know if its not! I do love it all though. I can't believe how mcuh she sent me!

2  Re: PIRATE Swap Returns from Davey Jones Locker - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jpoparock on: November 23, 2008 05:06:16 PM
Haha! I recieved from my partner a while back, but have forgotten to take pictures for a long while.

Anyways, this is what Midnight sent me. Oh, there were some pices of eight (chocolate coins) but they were munched by hungry seadogs (AKA, eaten by me) as soon as they were spotted.

Piratical socks (which are very yummy, and something I'm always in need of!)

A truly wench-worthy corset (I've not had the pleasure of wearing it yet, but I do love it. Please ignore the washing on the radiator in the BG ^^")

A piratical brooch. Its difficult to see, as my camera and light resources are evil and won't take decent pictures. Its lacy and has charms of piratical type things though. I'll get a better picture of this after xmas when I have my new camera. I've worn this frequently on ym jacket to and from... well, everywhere!

Okay, these officially are my favourite things in the package. PIRATE BOOTIES! They're made from black and white (indeed, my camera should be thrown overboard) damask fleece. The feet are outer-lined with a sturd leather/ette material. I wear them very much, and have even taken them with me to the labs when I had to spend all day there working. I got a few amused looks, but nobody really said anything. I think they're jealous. Plus, I LOVE damask, its one of my favourite things, so it was a real bonus.

Thank you so much Midnight!

3  Re: The magical myths and long lost legends gallery! in The Swap Gallery by jpoparock on: October 03, 2008 10:05:50 AM
okay guys, sorry i took a while to upload. Await the picture overload, and marvel at the awesomness of miep. I love her. She rocks. Seriously. (PS, sorry for having a pathetic camera) (pps, sorry and please ignore the rubbish shoved under my desk. I've decided i hate cleaning up as much as not crafting. so it got shoved there)

The awesome shopping bag! Its so sturdy and its waterproof (discovered today) and the mythology-legend writing it ribbon woven between the weave of the bag. Its so funky! Plus, I'm addicted to re-useable shopping bags. I love them, and they're environmentally friendly, dontcha know.

The amazing bracelet mentioned prior to this. Its so awesome. Wore it today to sleep and dreams lecture, then sat there wanting to doodle egyptian heiroglyphs all over my worksheet.

Viking Ahoy! My Dress form (Ton-ton, after the cute pig in Naruto) modelling a viking inspired hat and scarf. Dress forms get cold too! This is extra special because if you follow my lineage on my mothers fathers side through the males, we're from viking land. And my brother looks like a viking (he's tall, blonde and had more strength than he realises), so i'm looking to get him to model this for me tomorrow when he visits, or at least expect him to nick the hat. (Its very warm by the way. I have a very VERY cold bedroom in my flat here at uni, so i took a leaf from Miep's son and wore it to bed. Never had a warmer nights sleep here EVER.)

Its a DS case! With a button! and a King Arthur Print! *snuggles it* Its cushioned to protect Ollie, my DS, and its big enough to fit my DS with GBA game, two sets of DS game holders, another GBA game, plus my emergency battery charger for the DS AND a coupel more styluses incase i loose the one that Ollie is holding. And its dark purple and i love that. And the button amuses me. My flatmate left me staring at it, and came back half an hour later and I hadn't moved. I never get buttons like that so it was wow!

A book! a colouring book! My flatmate comes from swiss-land, the german part, so helped translate things. She said its in Flemish, which is close enough to dutch, which is close enough to swiss german to translate. I thought it was german at first glance, so there you have it. The pictures are so amazing and VERY art deco styled (like macintosh and the guys like that) and i LOVELOVELOVE that syle. Plus, the pictures made me litterally gasp when i was looking through. I'm going to be using some of the images from the book in a current swap =)

Magnets! Who doesn't love them?

Miep put these one all of the packages she had wrapped and they were too cute to get rid of, so i used some selotape and stuck them to my mirror, because the blutack wouldn't stay on them. They're gorgeous pictures, and they really make me smile.

And finally... a little silly one!

I finally got my camera to go and i remembered to upload pictures of my gift from myfrenchhat!

I'm sorry its taken so long ^^

Anyhoo, please meet my bunny version of "See no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil."  Bunny version of this saying is perfect for me, seen as i'm not a monkey fan AT ALL but ADORE the saying.

This is Squeaker. He can't speak any evil. So you know you're safe if he's the only witness to you accidently on purpose burying the bodies of evil noisy people who live above you.

This is Peepers. He can't see evil, so he's good to have around when and if you forget to give in an essay at uni.

This is Moot. He can't hear evil. That means he won't hear you muttering cursewords when your flatmate nicks the washer on your washing day, even if you have no more clothes left and they have stacks.

Together, they're probably not so good, cause the could conspire, but seen as I'm such an angel, they're safe in my room, among more stuffies of goodness.

Thank you Myfrenchhat! I so really love them!

5  Re: PIRATE Swap Returns from DJ's Locker (SIGNUP 9/12/089/30/08; MAIL By 11/3/08) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by jpoparock on: September 20, 2008 01:53:56 PM
Y'argh! I be returnin' to the internet after a hard day travellin' the ocean wide! (okay, it was only a 4 hours drive back to uni but my uni is the closest uni to the ocean in the whole world! [We beat California uni by about 2 meters {This is Swansea University by the way}]) Argh, nothin' beats sittin on the deck listenin' to the roar of me cannons blasting a hole in the ship I be plannin to plunder while suckin down me rum (okay okay, its green tea! But I don't have any rum at hand!)

I be a dangerous cap'n. Ye may laugh yer guts up at a female cap'n but what other poirate is darin' e'nuff to wear pink on the high sea? Aye, pink! It be flabbergatsin' to the navy! Argh, pink is my best weapon.

Y'argh, ignore ye curvy bilgerats I caught stowin onto me brig! (This pics from last september [ie, 2007] at an expo. I couldn't think up a character i wanted to go as, so i went as me, in pirate form. I love the coat I made and still frequently wear it. The pattern was by far the best one i ever invested in, as i often make the shirt over and over for myself and mum)

Okay, this is what i recieved from Kaisha.

I recieved ....

A scarf, a wand, a holder for said wand and some stitchmarkers/charms. The cat is my pet who kicks me outta bed to steal it. She just wanted in on the pictures. And wouldn't move from the pillows.

Special order! My wand! (i love this btw but don't know the specifications. I'd measure it but my dad has stolen the tape)

the markers! I've just put them back together as one was around my dolls neck and the other was in use already as a stitc marker.

Bad action shot of the scarf. I love that my face got obscured by garfields foot *is laughing at accidently face hiding*

I can only hope that Kaisha's package arrives quickly. I sent on wednesday, so it should be there between next wednesday and friday.

7  Re: ANOTHER Pin Cushion Swap Round 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jpoparock on: September 05, 2008 12:47:39 AM
I recieved and feel well and truly beyond wrds for how much i love the pin cushions!

I love the doughnut cushion because its just too cute (and soft)

But the sakura tree takes the biscuit! I don't think i'll be able to use it! Its beyond beautiful and the embroidered carp just blows me away. It's sitting next to my machinenow, but only because i love it and think its the bestest thing in the whole wide world!

Also, my dad does keep trying to steal it to sit next to his oriental styled pond and garden.

I recieved from Kitten Wrangler! I saw the post and was ike... hmmm... a package? Oh for meee!! *tear open* OMG LOVE HER!

She's so my style Cheesy I keep giggling because its funny IMO Tongue

She's so sweet. Poor things tired after a aus to uk journey! Best let her sleep.

Look! She woke up and took her place on my shelves with my pullip Dru and my Dal Nemo (both custom). Her eyes open too!

The letter. It says:

"This is Lucy from Syracuse. She likes writing but wants to apologise for her weak eyes - they just won't stay in her head and she's obliged to carry them around on a tray."

I think its kinda creep to be honest, in a good way. My sense of humour is to find things like this highly amusing! Eyes from head are fun, and I like writing (a working on a zombie novel right now). Also, my fave colours are pink/black among others Tongue Thanks so much kitten wranglre. I love her!

On a side note, I thought I was the only one who'd given names to the dolls before sending ^^ My recievee's will see what I mean. I just hope they understand why the names were chosen as they were!

it says "I had sex at 11. It was not rape."
