41  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Harry Potter ornaments on: December 31, 2012 10:51:22 PM
I made these ornaments for my partner in the Holiday HP swap.

I saw something similar to this but made with a clay scarf and a clay Hedwig inside. I thought it would be cool to do a crocheted version with a snitch inside. The jar is about 2 inches tall.

I also made a pygmy puff cage with mini pygmy puffs. I tried to make one using thin wire and soldering but after being burnt a few times and having a hard time getting the wires to stay I decided to pick up some thicker floral wire from the dollar store and used some thin purple wire from my stash and wire wrapped everything instead.

I love how they both turned out and plan on making some non-ornament ones for myself. Thanks for looking!  Grin
42  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Harry Potter and Twilight amigurumis on: December 31, 2012 10:24:51 PM
I made these Harry Potter and Twilight amigurumis for some swap partners.

For the Holiday HP swap I made a set of HP characters: Ron, Hermione, Harry and Dumbledore.

For the Back to Hogwarts Swap I made a smaller and different style Hermione and Luna.

And for a personal swap I made a set of small Twilight amigurumis: Bella, Edward and Alice.

43  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Whedonverse themed needlework on: December 31, 2012 09:33:15 PM
Some Whedonverse themed needlework I made for the last Whedonverse swap.

I made a felt embroidery of Jayne from Firefly for one of my partners. His earflaps are not stitched down completely and have thread for the ends. I also stitched on a tiny pom pom for his hat.

I also made her a "I aim to misbehave" quote cross stitch based on one in her pinterest.

I made a Xander quote cross sitch for my other partner using an 8-bit character from here http://zacgorman.com/?p=40.

44  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Harry Potter themed needlework on: December 31, 2012 08:55:30 PM
Just some Harry Potter themed needlework I've done for swaps this year.

This is a Ron & Hermione hoop I made using this image from my Holiday HP swap partner's pinterest.  I thought they were too cute not to stitch up.

I also made her these cross stitched ornaments using this pattern. I wanted to make some of the others but I started having problems with my hands and wrist during the swap so maybe I'll get a chance later.

I made this hoop for my Back to Hogwarts HP swap partner using this image from her pinterest. I used satin stitch which I haven't done on a large scale before.

46  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Doctor Who 10th plushie on: September 14, 2012 07:52:25 PM
I was commisioned to do another Doctor Who 10th plushie doll and she requested eyebrows and a jacket so I revamped my original plushie and came up with this. After I finished I just had to make him a felt sonic screwdriver.  Thanks for looking!

47  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Buffy the Vampire Slayer Spike plushie on: September 14, 2012 07:41:18 PM
I recently did a personal themed swap with Oath Keeper and when she mentioned that she liked plushies and Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer I just knew I had to make her a Spike plushie.

Since Spike has such amazing blue eyes I decided to try the chibi style eyes for the plushie instead of my normal black safety eyes and so glad I did. First I drew the eyes and then painted them on some white fabric. Then I cut them out and glued them on. Surprisingly this all was a first attempt and worked.  Cheesy

For his hair I had a hard time finding felt nearby that was light enough to use so I remembered I had some pale yellow flannel fabric and decided to try it and it worked great.

I've been working on my drawing skills the past few months and one of my favorite things I've been drawing is monsters. Here are some monster ATCs I've made for the Ongoing ATC swap. They were mostly done with sharpies and pen.

50  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Avengers Assemble! on: July 14, 2012 04:26:05 PM
I loved Iron Man after watching the movie when it came out and have been meaning to watch the rest of the Avengers movies for a while and finally got around to it. I watched Avengers, Thor, The Hulk, and Captain America last week and was inspired to make some Avenger amigurumis.

I decided to come up with a new smaller doll pattern for them that is a little quicker than my usual amigurumis. They were so fun to make and I've already made a second set. They are all 5.5" tall except for The Hulk who is 7" and Loki who is about 6.5".
