31  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Supernatural & The Walking Dead mini hoops on: July 13, 2013 01:41:45 PM
I finally made myself some more hoops. I used some 3.25" hoops and stitched up Castiel and Dean (Supernatural) with a couple of my favorite quotes. I also stitched up a Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) hoop with one of my favorite quotes. They were quick and fun to do. Thanks for looking!

32  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Dystopian/Post-apocalyptic swap? on: June 26, 2013 03:08:54 PM
Would there be any interest in a Dystopian/Post-apocalyptic themed swap? I know there has been a survival and fashion swap in the past but I was thinking a swap of film/tv/book related things, for example: The Walking Dead, The Hunger Games, Jericho, Survivors Repo! The Genetic Opera, Planet of the Apes, The Postman, Shaun of the Dead, Mad Max, The Stand, Zombieland and 12 Monkeys.

33  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hunger Games bracelets on: June 17, 2013 07:58:51 PM
I've been slowly but surely buying beads and charms here and there to make bracelets and finally got enough to make a loaded charm bracelet. I made a Hunger Games themed one for chughes225 in the IYP swap.

The charms are:

a flower for Primrose; tv for the Hunger Games; parachute; wine glass for Haymitch; cake for Peeta; paint palette for Peeta; Mockingjay; anchor for Finnick; tree for the Katniss/Rue; "sugar cube" for Finnick; bow and arrow for Katniss/Gale; pearl for Peeta; music note for Rue; "tracker jacker"; scissors for Cinna; berries

I also used big black beads to represent coal for district 12 and the orange, red, and yellow beads for the "girl on fire".

I also made matching cake earrings to represent Peeta and also because chughes225 makes beautiful cakes. And also a simple corded Mockingjay bracelet. Thanks for looking!  Grin

34  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Doctor Who Silence hoop on: June 17, 2013 07:06:07 PM
One of my favorite parts of the 6th series of Doctor Who is when they do the tally marks for the Silence, so when I saw a pillow on pinterest with the DW logo and tally marks I knew I had to make an embroidery of it for the IYP23 swap.

It is a 4" hoop and I used DMC Light Effects Glow-in-the-Dark embroidery floss on black fabric. I forgot to take a picture of it glowing but trust me it adds to the creepiness of the Silence marks. Cheesy

35  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Doctor Who Allons-y hoop on: June 17, 2013 06:56:03 PM
I made this Allons-y hoop for chughes225 in the IYP23 swap. She had pinned the beautiful hoop that deathbeforedishes made and so I found the original artwork here http://www.teefury.com/archive/1970/Allons_y_/ and did my own version.

I used backstitch to outline the word and the sonic screwdriver, then I used satin stitch to fill it in. I used DMC Light Effects Metallic embroidery floss to fill in the silver parts which was a little tricky at first, but a lot easier to use once I got use to it.

36  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Hunger Games Teesha Moore style bag [PIC HEAVY] on: June 17, 2013 06:28:12 PM
I made this Hunger Games themed TM bag for chughes225 in the IYP 23 swap. I've been wanting to give TM patches/bags a try and after seeing a few on chughes225 pinterest I knew I had to make one for her.

It took a lot more time than I thought it would mainly due to the fact that after 12 patches I started running out of ideas and had a hard time coming up with some that I liked. I think next time I'll pick a theme that I can pull more ideas from.

It was so fun to make and I can't wait to make another one. It was nice to try something new and I finally got to use some of the fabric and embroidery floss I've been hoarding. I also now have a good reason to buy some more.  Cheesy Thanks for looking!

37  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Avengers Assemble! 2.0 [PIC HEAVY] on: June 17, 2013 05:47:13 PM
I was asked a while back to make a full set of Avengers amigurumi plus Loki for someones little boy. I had already made Loki, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man before but I decided to change them up a bit this time and use some brighter colors. I also did a different hairstyle for the Hulk.

I also changed their eye sizes and crocheted Thor and Loki's capes and Loki's jacket instead of using felt this time, since I thought it would probably hold up better for a child than the felt would. They are all are around 6" tall except for Loki and the Hulk of course. Thanks for looking!

38  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / Found! - Angel needed for Supernatural Swap on: June 17, 2013 01:20:05 PM
Need an angel for Koreena for the Supernatural swap. She is in the US and
has smoke, mold & dust allergies. You would be crafting for her uncrafty man instead of her.

This was a 4pt swap with at least one large or medium item. I would like for her package to be mailed out within 2 weeks. Please PM me if you are interested in angeling for her. Thanks!  Grin
