Woodburning is just plain fun. It's like painting with a hot iron. The only difference is that once done, it's permanent.
I've been recently woodburning fairies and trolls. I love the versatility of woodburning. And you can do so much more if you add a few branding iron tips to your tool box. I have shapes like circles, hearts, diamonds, squiggles and donuts, and words like dream, hope, smile, love, and such. Stacking hearts, one on top of the other makes an interesting border. Or overlapping donuts.
Here's one of my latest burned items. I made this box for a swap.http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/90347_auntiem3.jpg
There are many great books on whittling. My favorite in about twig whittling. I've made roosters and evergreen trees, just with a pocket knife.
Love the box!
I've just started woodburning and I love it! I have been trying to find a skinnier tip for small lines and detail but I can't find any for the burner I have. It is a weller but not the gun-style. Is there anyplace you could point me to get them?
