These are some bracelets I have been working on for a while. They are crocheted with 100% cotton yarn and have snap closures. Please let me know what you think.  Smiley

2724  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Let it burn! on: September 22, 2009 01:37:56 PM
Very pretty!

I have just started woodburning recently too and can't stop.  Cheesy As far as cutting the circles out, you could use a drill and a hole saw bit. And like GeeZee mentioned, you could use a branch. I have cut out a few and have been burning on them and they seem to burn fine. I am using oak though so it may depend on the type of wood you use. And like SunflowerSmiles mentioined, sanding it before burning would probably help too.
2725  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: More Shells Already on: September 21, 2009 07:20:07 PM
Rottie, I just wash them in fresh water and buff them up with my dremel if needed. Anything that is soak-in-bleach-stinky, like a crab claw, I just don't use. Be careful when you wrap, especially with the quartzy rocks - your tools can leave metallic marks that are really hard to get off.
Padfoot, do you live here? (Kure) I get most of my shells at Ft Fisher. And, what precisely are you doing with a picture of my boyfriend as your userpic??

No, I live near Raleigh. We went to Kure for a few days in August. We got a few shells at Fort Fisher too, it is such a beautiful place.  Shocked Do you mean the pic of my husband?  Wink Tongue Cheesy

The first is baby Simba from the Lion King. It is about 1" x 1 1/2". I made it to send to an online friend. The second is the Be Safe quote from the Twilight book. It is about 1"x 1/2". Please let me know what you think. Smiley
