I made this for my 4yr old daughter for Christmas. She loves Wizard of Oz and had asked for a game so this is what I came up with. It is woodburned and then colored in with colored pencils and crayon. It is about 7"x11"

393  Twilight quilt - my first quilt in Quilting: Completed Projects by spikefan on: December 20, 2009 10:13:06 PM
I got my 47yr old mom hooked on Twilight back during the fall and she now has a thing for Edward so I decided to make an Edward throw for her. It is going to be her Christmas present and I really hope she likes it. I know it isn't perfect but I tried.  Cheesy I have always admired the time and effort that you quilters put into the quilts but now I have even more after making my first.

I didn't realize how hard making it was going to be. It is 39"x39", I thought I bought enough fabric to make a larger one but I didn't. Then I had to decide on a pattern to make the fabric that I had work. That was so nerve racking for me and I almost gave up before I could even get started. But I got it figured out. I used some quilts I saw on etsy and google search for inspiration. I wanted a different style but I had to go with what would work.

For some odd reason I ironed on the picture of Edward onto a separate piece than the black around him and then "log cabined" around him instead of ironing it directly to a large black square.  Roll Eyes

The quotes were ironed directly on the fabric and then zigzagged around, which was a lot easier.  Cheesy They are "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb"; "Be Safe"; "You are my life now", and "You are exactly my brand of heroin". After I finished them I wanted to add more  but I didn't have enough iron on transfers to do it. Sad I think I need to iron the edges of the quilt a little to get them to lay flat a little more but overall I am pleased with it.

395  Twilight purse in Crochet: Completed Projects by spikefan on: November 12, 2009 03:27:43 PM
This is my first time crocheting graphs and a purse. It is crocheted with cotton yarn and is about 8"x 8 1/2" and the strap is about 15" long. I hand sewed red fabric for the lining and weaved in red ribbon on the strap. The new moon flower is from a cross stitched needlebook that Krafty_Karasu posted and the twilight cover I made myself. I am planning on making a coin purse to go with it with the breaking dawn cover incorporated into it to finish off the theme. Please let me know what you think. Cheesy
