1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: An amazingly yellow dahlia for winter use on: July 06, 2010 01:56:08 PM
Holy cow you're adorable!

I so wish I could knit like that. I can barely make a square with the stockinette stitch...

Great job!

That is such a cute hat, you did an excellent job! Smiley  Where did you find the pattern if you don't mind me asking.

I actually just made up the hat without a pattern. The flower was a modified version of one from http://www.action-hero.net/blog/2004/09/crocheted-flower-pattern.html

And thank you for the compliment, that was only the second thing I've made since I learned how to crochet this past weekend.

Yay! I finally made the deadline for a challenge. I couldn't have asked for a better reason to bust out my newly acquired crocheting skills. I have a beautiful little 3yr old girly girl that I have made a super cuddly baby blue and white hat for.

So there it is, please let me know what you think.

cute!!!

What did you use for the Circle?

All I could find was that memory wire for bracelet making. it works fine, but its a pain in the butt sometimes. Like if I tie down one of the limbs too tight, my circle starts turning into an oval, or egg shape, or whatever the heck it wants to become. ARRGGGH

I can't find heavy gauge wire to use. Sad

I just used the memory wire...I was thinking of hitting up the local hardware stores for some thicker gauge wire. Just an idea.

I'm thinking of giving resin a whirl, any tips for a fellow newbie?
