1  Granny Spring bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by devotchka on: February 02, 2008 08:08:53 PM
This is another birthday gift for another friend of mine, this one I used the leftover cotton from my corset's lining, and a remnant I got from the textiles camp I volunteered at/semi taught at this summer!  Oh and this is my first real purse ever.  On to the pictures:

2  A somewhat new take on a craftster phenom... record purse! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by devotchka on: January 15, 2008 07:35:50 PM
Alrighty so for a friend of mine's birthday I decided to craft her something out of something else she really liked... If that makes any sense ahaha.  Anywho! Heavily inspired by some other craftster posts about making purses out of records I decided to create my own, and voila! It is entirely handsewn and I beaded the handles myself.  Alot of hot glue went into this as well!  I am actually so pleased with this that I am very sad to see it leave me Sad

Side One:  The mormon tabernacle choir's greatest hits!

Side Two:  Rod Stewart (ew...)

Hand sewing ahahah

3  Glow in the dark and silver wal mart shoes! in Shoes: Completed Projects by devotchka on: October 13, 2007 07:29:43 PM

Score!  I bought those heinous canvas five dollar (canadian) shoes from wal mart and painted them! After about five coats of silver they get a really nice sheen (which doesn't photograph. grrr).  Five coats of milky pukey looking green gets a regular green shade and super glowing capabilities! As soon as dusk hits, my feet emanate a ghastly glow.  Cheesy Cheesy

4  Vintage "tea cup" pocket apron! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by devotchka on: August 12, 2007 09:05:15 PM
So! First post.  Anyway, this is an apron I sewed for my first fashion show, and i thought it should be featured simply because the pockets are shaped like tea cups!  Inspired by a 1940's Mccalls pattern.

Not sure if the print is visible, but it's little bumblebees.  The bottom edge is bias bound and the purple trim is seam binding.... hahah ^^
