6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / i am a super....... DRESS MAKER on: March 31, 2008 07:29:19 AM
ha okay, well, i'm usually pretty good at sewing, sometimes ill get sloppy and get mad. and then i wonder why i get mad all the time when i sew, and its because im sloppy right, right.

well my first attempt was using some totally CUTE fabric. and it didnt really work out.. but, ill post it anyway so you can help me bask in my own glory (or however you say it lol).. im really proud of myself.

and... *drum roll*   my fabulous piece.. these are not, i repeat NOT using any patterns, and this one here is sooo easy to do.

i covered the buttons with white fabric, and the 'piping' i cut off a polka dot skirt and sewed it all together like basting tape stuff.

close up of the collar(i just learned how to make button holes, so this one is crap. lol)

close up of the end of the sleeve

8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Battling Cancer on: November 27, 2007 05:29:36 PM
so, a few years ago, My Grandpa beat cancer. It really changed him as a person of course, but to me he'll always be my Grandpa. I'm currently brainstorming this project right now, i wanna have a picture (draw or print off, most likely ill draw) of an old man and a little girl holding hands walking and all you see is the back. I'm framing it in a classic black frame, and i need a poem to go off on the side. I'm having major writers block, and its dealing with him beating cancer so he can be around to meet his grandbaby (when it is concieved, and as of now, its not yet. lol) This is my biggest fear that he wont be around to meet her. My brother just had his first child this summer and today he saw my nephew Jayden for the first time. I want that for me too. It just means alot to me, and i want to show that to him.. Does anyone have any ideas? inspiration? advice? i'd really really appreciate it.. Thanks.

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / how to crochet a flower?? on: September 02, 2007 03:05:58 PM

10  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / my take on the sweater boot, used fleecey material on: September 01, 2007 10:56:04 AM
so i saw the sweater boots, and i just HAD to have a pair, ill still be making a pair out of sweater material, but i figured if give er a go with this polar fleecy stuff. its only one sided, so its not full fleece Sad

i hand stitched the tongue of the shoe to the side, and i also glued it. just to make sure it was going to stay.

a heel insert that i made just so it was softer cuz the shoes are really worn out. thus the reason they were made into boots Tongue

the shoe before i started glueing

glueing it to the shoe. and i didnt cut the shoe at all.

finished product!!!

tell me what you guys think.. im also sewing some little cherries at the back of the boot.. just to give em a cute edge Wink ill post those pics on too.. took me a total of about 2.5 hours to whip these puppies up..

groovy carpet eh Tongue

alas, the cherries Smiley
