1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Doctor Who David Tennant Sock Monkey on: January 09, 2014 06:15:20 PM
It had been awhile since I had made a sock monkey, and I decided to make a Doctor Who one for a friend.

Despite using all the same clothing patterns I've previously used for sock monkeys, they fit really poorly. I guess time lords are oddly proportioned  Tongue

The sonic screwdriver is polymer clay.

The tardis is just a cardboard box hastily made, which he is traveling inside of through the postal service.

2  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Rainbow Chucks on: May 29, 2013 08:53:39 AM
So I just got a new pair of Chucks, which reminded me how much I hated my white ones. So Which researching about dying them, I came across a picture of rainbow ones, and fell in love. I had some dye already, sei tumble dye, in red, yellow, and blue. I used a foam brush to apply it, let it dry, then threw them in the dryer to set the dye. Also, I used masking tape on the rubber just to be safe. I didn't get the shoes wet before I dyed them, but the colors might run better if you did.

Right after I dyed them, you can see the colors were darker at this point

Thanks for looking!

5  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: February Birthday Swap (Signup all month!) on: February 10, 2012 05:10:45 PM
Hi I'm Kirsten. I turned 24 on 2/4. I live in Illinois, back and forth between the suburbs and Chicago. I graduated from college about a year ago, and studied German, Spanish, and International Trade. I love anything Mexico or Germany related, also love French and Portuguese. Some of my favorite things include tandem and penny-farthing bikes, Domokun, sock monkeys, rubber ducks, and Harry Potter. I am extremely disorganized so anything that organizes things in any way would be appreciated. If I can find an internship, I will be going to Europe soon.

I have recently become very interested in camping, and even tried (and liked!) winter camping for the first time.

I like having dinner parties, I love red wine, bourbon, and beer. I brew and bottle my own beer.

I spend a lot of time on the train, I'm not sure if you can craft me something for that, but I thought it was worth mentioning.  Tongue

I love the colors red, green, and pink. I enjoy bike riding (especially the tandem bike), geocaching, reading, cooking, and crafting.

My allergies include:

Aspartame
Kiwi
Feathers

Crafted Items

Domokun gloves, they don't have to be these ones, if you want to go all out I love the fingertipless gloves that have the hinging mitten part

Something that says this:

10  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Toasted Pumpkin Seeds on: October 29, 2010 07:02:29 AM
Wow two hours! I think I usually cook mine for like 15 mins, but at something more like 350. You can also make them on the stove. One year I went all out and made a bunch of different flavored ones. That was the year I found pumpkins on clearance and bought them only for the seeds!  Grin
