1  UNITED STATES / Nevada / Reno workshops on: May 09, 2007 06:58:43 PM
I was just reading through RGJ and saw an ad about a needle felting workshop being offered this weekend.
apparently there are many different workshops offered at http://www.stmarysartcenter.org/html/main.html I don't know if this place has been around forever, but it's new to me and it may be new to you too! I'm thinking about signing up for the printmaking workshop in July.
Just thought I'd share.  Cheesy
2  UNITED STATES / Nevada / getting a nevada business license on: August 21, 2006 01:46:50 PM
I was wondering what the process for getting a business license is in Nevada. I know how to register a name, but that's the only info I have found so far and understood. Why is everything so complicated, especially when it has to do with government??? Argh!
So if anyone has done it recently, can you give me any links or info. I have done the whole business thing in Canada, but everything is different here (incluiding the letter Z) so any help would be appreciated!
THANKS
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / thanking someone that paid lawyer's fees. $ on: July 19, 2006 11:42:51 AM
I moved to the states last year, from Canada. I married an American, we got a lawyer and started working on the applications. Well, yesterday I got my final acceptance, and am now a permanent resident. However, we couldn't have done all of this if it weren't for his boss. She is super generous and footed the bill. We're talking thousands upon thousands of dollars.
There won't be any way to actually repay her, ever, but I really want to give her more than a card and flowers. I don't know her at all, and my husband is a little dense when it comes to these things. She's rich, so what do you give someone that has everything- and I mean everythingHuh
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Site with wholesale gift/food boxes? on: February 28, 2006 06:05:22 PM
I know that boxes aren't exactly supplies, but they are a part of some craftster's projects.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any good sites to buy blank (coloured is okay) gift boxes wholesale. Specifically food safe boxes that you could put cupcakes or cookies in.

Thanks peoples

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Using your legal name as your business name. on: February 26, 2006 07:52:46 PM
Rather than making up a business name, I was thinking that I might like to use my actual name for my business.
I.e. ____ _____ Designs, _____ ______ Jewelry, etc.
I was wondering, those of you that do, have you ever had any complications with it? I guess I'm mainly wondering about safety.
Also, what made you decide to use your actual name, rather than a made up name?

Thanks everyone
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / looking for a website on: January 06, 2006 03:47:37 PM

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / good storage for fabric and wool on: October 19, 2004 09:47:16 PM
so all day i have been perusing all the storage ideas on this thread and other crafty sites. i have deffinitly gotten some new ideas for containers, labels etc. but i am still concerned about long term storage of yarn and fabric. i opened this plastic container of material after it being shut for one month and it stunk... i also has some material in a new cardboard box (ikea) which also stunk when i opened it. so im concerned... i dont want everything to smell. and mold! i live in a very damp city... house...
my oma (grandma) stored everything with mothballs- which i wont do... thats the only long term storage that i know of this far.
thanks for help!
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Boppin Bobbin on: October 04, 2004 05:42:33 PM
What is it that would cause the spool of thread on top of my machine to keep jumping around and twisting the thread around the spool holder thing? This is driving me bananas. Thanks.
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / my sewing machine... on: September 21, 2004 09:26:31 AM
... just whips all around the table i have it on. this is my first portable machine. my other is a 1970s viking inside a desk. so it jsts freaks me out as i sew cuz the tables all shaking, and the machine is rattling and flying around. it even has rubber feet... i also think i need a more stable desk, instead of 4 legs and a top.
so what is the best set up for these machines?
