1  My first attempt at granny squares. A bit wibbly wobbly... in Crochet: Completed Projects by lelyonna on: March 06, 2015 07:23:00 AM
Something old and something new....

(the colours of the photos are rubbish, and the whole thing looks a tad askew, but nevermind that. You get the idea)

2  Garden Apron for a tiny gardener in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by lelyonna on: April 26, 2014 01:55:24 PM
I use my own garden apron all the time when gardening (which I do a lot), and it is so very handy to not have to worry about getting dirty. This year I have a new little helper who is ever so interested in all that we do in the garden, so I made her a tiny apron as well (from a curtain). Such a cute little helper. Makes me warm inside everytime she comes out wearing this, all eager to help. <3

This is a simplified version of my own apron, found with tutorial here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=417397.0#axzz2MNMBOpxv

3  Enviromentalfriendly wrappers- let's save the world this christmas in Winter Holidays by lelyonna on: December 18, 2013 05:53:49 AM
This is hardly what I would proudly call craftyness and creativity, but I think it is such a neat idea that I wanted to share it with you all. Because, let's be honest, most of us crafters tend to have a lot of scrap pieces of fabrics lying around, right? =)

We are constantly striving to be more eco-friendly in our home, and wrapping up our (mainly) eco-friendly gifts in loads of paper that is then simply thrown out (or at best: used one more time before they are rubbish) didn't sit right with us. So I've been making re-usable wrappings instead. It is a mix of simple bags tied together with ribbons, and knot wraps/furoshiki that can be tied in loads of various ways depending on the shape of the gift. It looks lovely piled up under the tree, there is not cleaning up loads of papers afterwards, and no waste. Win-win for both us and nature =)
(and to be honest- doesn't it look a bit more fancy than common paper-wrapped gifts?)

So, I am sharing this now to call on all my lovely fellow crafters to do a good deed and save nature one present at a time! <3

That Cowl looks so comfy! And I love the pattern and colours =)

So, here is yesterday's harvest of newborn bunnies, created while watching broadchurch. Ahh, that Tennent....

Description: I had some left of this floral fabric which I really liked the look of (but hated sewing in,because it is so hard to work with), so I made another floral bunny for the shelter.

First of all: A BIG Con Gratulations to Gryffindor!

Secondly: Congrats to my fellow WotW's! (And also, thanks to the bosses for selecting me! I am flattered!)

Thirdly: Awsome things, everyone! Jennie Ingram: I am so amazed at all your food preservations! I have so far made like 10 jars only for winter >.<

I had a resting-day last week when I basically sat in my bed watching firefly and sew. So, here is the result of that:

~*COMPLETED OWL HEADER*~
OWL Subject & Option : History of Magic- something historical
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Galadriel goes Snuffles
Project Page Link: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=426669.0#axzz2c2wysD2t
Brief Description: Since I come from a very, Very old wizarding family (going all the way back to Merlin! Beat that silly muggles!) I wanted to honour that by using some very old techniques in my crafting. Hence when making this gorgeously green dress I added card weaved details for the sleeves. The costume is for a muggle larp I am attending a weekend when slipping out of hogwarts to go out to the forbidden forest and pretend to be a psychic. Pretty much what I do every divination class, but this time I actually get to freak people out and start of intrigues and relationship issues with all my toxic tales. I shall be playing a very kind, but a bit hard-to-understand, melancholic elf from the seaside, who now lives in the forest.
Project Picture:

There are a lot of better pictures of all the different parts if you click the link. In the end I am very pleased with the result (though of course dissatisfied with some things here and there).

and with that I realised I have not called out Bingo pretty much every time I have achieved one since the first one I claimed. However, this will be the last bingo I can claim because I have no time left to finish a newt and I have already crossed every single other square on that bingo chart. Sooo...
SUPERBINGO to me I guess ^^ This means I have... eh... uhm.... well.... a lot of them. All lines that doesn't include the newt-square. They really ought to teach maths at hogwarts, don't they?

7  My elven costume in Costumes: Completed Projects by lelyonna on: August 15, 2013 02:41:10 PM
A bit picture heavy... Sorry >.<

This autumn I will be going to a larp as the elfish "dreamer". She has the ability to predict the future and mainly stays put in one place all the time which means that for ones I get to play a classical elf-in-the-wood who doesn't have to have 100% practical clothes to be able to get around without getting caught in everything in the forest. Sooo-I present to you my first classical full-length elvish costume ^^ Jay.

As always I can point out sooo many things I am not pleased with, but I shall try to focus on the whole and say that I like it.

So, here she is.
I really like the absurd length of the sleeves, even though weaving the hem on them took forever.

Close up on the details. I card weaved them both in the same pattern but in different colours)

The dress is only closed halfway down, so it opens up on an underskirt with some light embroidery in the lower front.

close up on the embroidery (I am really lousy at decorating stuff and have never embroidered like this before)

Close up on the embroidery along the neckline

I wanted the costume to fit all kinds of weathers, so in case of colder days I also have additional sleeves/half gloves knitted in wool

And for the cold nights I of course have a cloak

For warmer days the entire sleeves of the dress can come of

aaaand sleeveless from the back.

what do you think? I could sort of pull it off, right?

Pinkleo: That is a sh*t load of squares! Good job! And I love the colours!

CraftLadyMJ: Your wands are so adorable =)

ntrebleagain: I love those ties! I really don't like jewellery at all, cause I have some weird ocd-like issues with metal in contact with skin. But those really really rocks! So much I actually kind of want one. Which is to say a lot ^^

Class/Challenge/House Pride: August detention
House: Slytherin
Project Name: From the sea we came
Brief Description: So, I have gotten my role for the elf-larp I am going to this autumn, and it turns out my role is an outside elf from the seaside, so I decided to make an underskirt to go with my OWL-dress, with some light embroidery inspired by waves on it. It is folded up in the photo, so you can only see parts of it,but I will take better pictures later when posting my OWL I think...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Qudditch- chaser
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Packed and ready
Brief Description: I always find bags to be very useful when out camping. To keep your crafting things, your hygiene-products, your candy. Your precious precious candy.... My preciousssss.....
(anyways, such dull simple bags, but I am really satisfied with the design I made which allowed them to be so very fast and easy to make (pretty much 10 min/bag), and still have them all lined and perfect in the finish.)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Qudditch- Haversacking
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Finally!
Brief Description: Sooo.... I cut out the fabrics for this  cloak about 3 years ago. And made the terrible mistake of putting them together-allowing me to sort of be able to use it, as long as I pinned it together with a kilt pin. Big mistake, since that made it so much easier to be lazy and never have the motivation to finish it of in order to be able to properly use it. And let me tell you- 5 meters of hand stitching a frakking hem is not something you long to just pick up and finish. So in the end I pulled myself together, brought it along for a board game day with some friends and finally started working on  it. I assume it was my innocently, ladylike stitching that made no one even considered the possibility that I was a cylon. Need I say I killed those humans and totally won the game?
Anyway: What I did was hand stitch a sort of collar, attaching a closing-thingy and hemming the entire thing. Phew! So glad it is finally done! (and I shall get better pictures of this too eventually. I promise. My camera sucks...)

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Qudditch- Beater
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Wood for the woods
Brief Description:  I wanted my elf to be a weaver, so thus I want to bring along a weave, but not have to have it attached to myself as I usually do (putting it up between my foot and waists, forcing me to remain still). So I built this really simple sort of portable loom to bring with me. Most of the time was spend on cleaning the wood up, clearing it from twigs and the likes, and sharpening the pieces that goes in to the ground.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Charms
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Worth the blisters
Brief Description: When working on my loom I realised that the random fallen branches I had picked up at the forest outside our house was a gorgeous piece of wood that simply begged to be used for something. So I made my very first attempt ever at wood carving. As you can see the result is crude to say the least, and very unpretty but considering I wasn't allowed to use my wand I am immensely proud that the end result is actually something usable at all! These knifes are for butter and honey.

ErinAquahearts: I am so, so, so sorry for you. My thoughts, my heart and my prayers are with you. Thank goodness you still have the heart to still craft, because such shocking news and being stuck in the hospital can really kill the spirit stone dead. There are no words big enough to fit the situation. All I can say is: that sucks. like, unsiversal-size suck.
Your jello-drawing however really rocks =) And your mug too, but the jello just made me smile ^^
(the red colour is for love and strenght<3)

noodle-bug: those banners are frakking gorgeous! I am in awe of your (and your friend's) skills!

badwolf314: your bookshelf rocks

pottermouth: Alton's tale is just... <3 And as far as my tardis stencil goes I stole the idea from something I saw on the internet, so please do continue the noble line of stealing^^

TooFewShoes: Welcome!

Pinkleo: I was wondering.. can one turn in Spew-items only to get spew credits, without them actually belonging to any certain class/challenge?

tiamatfire: I love your sweater! I wish I had the patience for such works because that one was really beautiful. I love cable knitted stuff!

patty_o_furniture: I love your hunger games doodle! And the chocolate swirl..... merlin'sbeard!I need that one! Now!

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Herbology
S.P.E.W: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Meet Cherie
Brief Description: we got this old skirt donated to us, and it reminded me  so much of cherry blossom in the colouring and pattern, and we just knew that we needed to make a bunny out of it. So I did. Actually there will be a few bunnies from this skirt, but this is the first one
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Quidditch-Cobbing
S.P.E.W: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Sharpen your ears
Brief Description: This little fellow might not have very pointy elbows, but she her ears are lethal. Just look at all the skulls she has tattooed in her ears- one for each teddy she has killed!
Project Picture:

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Quidditch-Bumphing
S.P.E.W: Women's shelter
House: Slytherin
Project Name: Cuddle friend
Brief Description: This on is made out of children's clothes, and will be used to comfort children to. Honestly, is there any better protection in the dark night than someone to hold on to?

10  Bountiful Booties in Knitting: Completed Projects by lelyonna on: August 05, 2013 03:28:38 PM
I started making these a while back, to sell in a project to raise money for a women's shelter. I make them out of left over bits of yarn and then the entire profit of the things can go straight to the women who needs our help. Neat huh?
Anyway, I thought I'd show you because I simply adore this pattern (not made by me, but I have gotten special permission from the amazing creator to sell them for the good cause).

aren't they adorable?
