1  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Vegan chocolate chip cookie recipe? on: February 11, 2010 08:19:20 AM
So, I haven't been able to persue my awesome course of veganism while staying with a french host family for the start of the year, it would have been impossible for them, but to be honest the dairy and so on is completely grossing me out and I can't wait to return to veganism. But I haven't found a good vegan choc chip cookie recipe yet - all I want is a good plain cookie, and they're always strangely flavoured or textured or taste too healthy. Vegans deserve junk food too!! So if anyone has a scrummy recipe or photos or advice it would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / silly gallic doodle! :P on: November 08, 2009 07:21:20 AM
Well hopefully next year I'm spending some time away at school in France, to meet new people and improve my French skillz Tongue and I was thinking about how I'd have to be super stylish to contend with the Paris girls I'll be staying with lol. So... I did a random doodle thinking about clothes and colours. Feel free to laugh at my ineptitude XD

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What to do with old tutus? on: July 29, 2009 03:40:01 AM
Hi all,
Recently I danced in a ballet show, and the rules of the place where I take lessons is that every student has to buy their own costumes. So, I have been left with these two gorgeous tutus! The problem is I'm not really sure what to do with them. One is light blue with a traditional sort of floofy "tabletop" skirt which sticks out above my butt, and the other is black with a long black net skirt. I had an idea for turning the black one into a sort of prom dress like this one: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=294067.0 but so far I'm not really sure how and what to do with them! Any help?

Many thankies  Smiley

P.s If I turned the black one into a dress like the one I linked to, I would need to put some kind of boning and/or padding into the soft Lycra bodice, as I don't think it would hold up all that floofy extra netting! what would you recommend?
4  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Kawaii Wallpaper? on: May 02, 2009 02:37:53 PM
I'm moving house soon, and I'm so excited to get started on my new, non rented bedroom! However, I want some of my room decorated with kawaii print wallpaper, preferrably Monokuro Boo (or anything like that) and I don't know where to find such a thing. I live in the uk, so places like Target aren't much use to me, but internet stores would be great! Tomorrow I'm going to search for paint chips lol.
Thanks in advance!

5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Any help? making mohair wig ;) on: July 30, 2008 03:10:16 AM
Hi!
I'm in the process of customizing a couple of blank Hujoo bodies (because I love them and the blank bodies are cheap  Wink) and to keep the price low I wanna make my own wigs. I fell in love with these gorgeous soft looking mohair wigs that someone custom makes, but they're almost as expensive as the dolls themselves  Roll Eyes so I thought that it may be possible to make them myself. i was thinking to lock loop a mesh skull cap in dyed mohair, but I have no idea about the pattern for the shape of the wig, or where to buy (and what kind) of mohair i'd need for dyeing. And how to attach the mohair is another thing. I think Hujoo heads are blythe/pullip/MSD size, or around that.
many thanks in advance!

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Calling all BJD owners! (silly questions) on: July 18, 2008 02:29:03 AM
Hi all!
My projects at the moment are some BJD's I am working on. But since I don't actually own a BJD (that's why I'm making one haha  Wink) I'm kinda winging it with tuts from books and the internet. But I don't really know about the headcap. I know it's there, but what's it for? Is there a specific way of making one? and how is it attatched to the head? glue? a slot? (pictures would be appreciated  Smiley) I know these Q's are stupid, but I'm really determined to make these dollies perfect  Cheesy
Another question I have is about casting the face. when you make the mould and pour the resin in, how do you keep the eye holes open? or don't you?
I'm sorry about sounding ridiculous but I would really appreciate your help  Smiley
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / poor much-loved dolly needs recon help!!!!!(please excuse my noobiness) on: March 28, 2008 07:15:11 AM
Ok, I have this doll, who, a long time ago, was in good nick. Now she's suffering. Her hair is frizzzzzed up beyond repair, her stock clothing is UGLY and she's nameless...her old name doesn't really "suit" her any more.
sooo.....I've seen the awesome recons people do to their dollies, and I thought "hey! I could do something like that!" so I've come for help...
I want to rewig her, first. But her hair is rooted. I'm an amateur in this field...has anyone rewigged a rooted doll? and how? and what kind of wig is good...gah, I sound like such a n00b.*blush*
And after I've done that, I'd like to change/dim down the blush on her cheeks, since she'll be a redhead...how??
thanks+ excuse my noobiness  Cheesy Grin
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Clear doll safety eyes in the UK??? on: March 18, 2008 12:10:45 PM
Hi all!!
I am a devoted poppeteer and would love to know if anyone has found an online UK store where you can buy 15-18mm CLEAR doll safety eyes for customizing and painting, like some people do for their poppets. I can't figure out how to sand down the colour on the backs of the coloured eyes!!
Thanks

she's an easter lolita, so of course she's gotta have a basket full of chicks!

why do ALL these photos make her head look lumpy? *grr*

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / NAMED: Sparkle du Snowbelle , the snow princess!!!(img frosty) on: March 09, 2008 05:50:07 AM
Thankyou for the beautiful name suggestions everyone!! I loved them all.

Ok, this poppet took me AGES to make, because my machine broke down halfway through  Cry
But yesterday it got fixed, and today she is finished!!

She is a shy snow princess. She loves icicles, snowflakes, penguins, winter, springtime and frozen lollies Cheesy but she doesn't like heatwaves, geometry, and sports lessons.

here she is:

she has the HUUUUUGGGEESSTTT hair EVER, because it's made of about a million tracks. you can make good pigtails though  Cheesy

here she is again:

she has snowflake printed felt for the inside of her ears, and it's really sparkly!! but I couldn't get a good picture  Sad

say hello  Smiley

I'm sorry about the pics being blurry, they weren't on my camera  Huh

the poor girl's a winter poppet, obviously, so she was a bit confused by the daffodils:

here she is with the spring flowers again!!

her dress is made from ghilie's wonderful, easy peasy pattern. It's got teeny tiny strawberries on it Smiley

I've got some marabou trims and stuff to make her a coat, but now she's used to the springtime (she even said she liked it) she needs some spring things!!

she was partially inspired by Malibukasey's Fable, the snow sprite poppet, so thanks MK!!

but she has a problem:: once again, I can't think of a name for her!! can anyone else??
one beautiful name FOUND

I hope you all like her, I'm really proud Smiley
comments/criticisms?

EDIT::she's got some close ups of her eyes plus eyelids!!

I'm sorry about how HIDEOUSLY blurry this pic is. Here eyes are green, it makes her look very sylph-like Smiley

In this one she looks as though her nose is deformed. It reallly isn't!! the shadow made it wierd.

It shows the colour of her eyes a bit better.

Thankyou for all the LOVELY comments people!! I think she is my best one yet *shhh*
