I dont know if this is where im supposed to post this question, so if its not please move me!

Ok, so i was sewing along this afternoon, no problems at all, and then my thread jammed.. i fixed that figured out why it happened and all was well- or not. NOW the problem im having is that i cant get the tension right! I went through all the troubleshooting things for my machine, went a rethreaded it a bazillion and one times to make sure that it was threaded properly and NOTHING. It weird too though because its loose top and bottom. I can adjust it until its only loose on the bottom, but as soon as i fix that its loose on the top again. What the heck is going on? does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I spent about an hour working on it before giving up [you know, so i wouldnt throw the machine in the trash! ]
