571  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Crocheted Shrug ~ Any Interest? on: February 26, 2005 04:57:28 AM
I decided that since the construction is so basic and I can't possibly get the guage I'm supposed to using Light & Lofty, I'm going to use some instructions from Crochetville to make my shrug.

The basic idea is here:  http://p084.ezboard.com/fcrochetvillefrm25.showMessage?topicID=322.topic

I am going to make the first one using Light & Lofty in Antique Rose.

I might even play with the stitch pattern, but with boucle, it's a little pointless. Undecided

What are y'all going to do?
574  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Changing KNIT to CROCHET: Can it be done? on: February 19, 2005 05:01:36 AM
Yeah, conversion depends on what you're trying to achieve, but there are some basic steps to take to achieve the same size and basic shape of a knitted item using crochet:

I am not sure what's up with the link, can somebody help me fix it?

I do!  I don't know what kind of yarn I'll use though.

The hat looks like just the hat that I need!  How much yarn did it take?

I'm also curious about the sweater pattern.  Where did you find it?

I looked at your post because I'm from Jones County, which is very close to Jacksonville.  Unfortunately, now that I don't live there anymore, I keep "meeting" crafters online who now live in the area.

Have fun with the kids and the fiber classes!
