1  Re: Happy Mail Swap (SU Aug 17-26; SO Sept 14) in ACTIVE SWAPS WHERE SIGN-UP PERIOD HAS CLOSED by teag on: August 29, 2016 09:08:18 AM
I am going to to jump in here with a quick no measure tutorial for making a 6 x 9 envelope. At least this is how I did- I never thought to look for a how to on you tube or the internet-

I used a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper plus a strip of coordinating paper 1" wide by 9" long

I started by creating a template 6"x9" from cardboard

I eyeballed it and placed the template  in the center of the scrapbook paper which is face down. I then fold along the sides- because the paper isn't wide enough the is a 3/4" gap, i will adress that later

I then slid the template down to one end approximately 1" for the end and folded down both ends

I opened the "envelope" and removed the template- then i cut off the sectons shaded on each end

You can see that better here:

All that's left to do i glue it, take the 1" strip of paper and glue it to the center gap

Now glue the smal flap down

This was a quick and easy way to create an envelope. I truy didn't give it much thought and just threw them together.

My cards were done entirely by hand

I started by creating my background using delusions paints.

I then sketched out a mini me

Then drew a lot more of me and painted each individually with watercolors

I then cut out, framed and a signed each mini me

I then wrote out all the facts by hand.

7  Re: Harry Potter - I Want to Live in the Burrow Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by teag on: July 09, 2016 04:31:54 PM
I received from a wonderful package from dinkime yesterday- i was so fearful of opening it-the package arrived mangled, in spite of the many fragile notations on every side of the box, i was afraid everything inside would be destroyed, but to my delight everything survive,  thank you dinkime for a wonderful swap

First up, dinkime made me the most wonderful hoopla

It's hedwig! And so very large

Also included were some wonderful HP goodies

A pair of hogwarts socks,  some bertie Botts flavored beans, and an ornament that gives a nod to The Diam of Ravenclaw

I received the most wonderful package package from LadybugsandBumblebees-and boy did she spoil me, not two patches, not three patches, but four

Two Harry potter themed, a bird themed and a whimsical themed patch:

Some patches from me to embellish myself! What a great idea.

And a tm patch kit!

Here's the kit opened
