2  Keepsake/souvenir bottle in CHALLENGE 107 ENTRIES by teag on: March 06, 2015 11:06:50 AM
This idea has been living in my head for about a year,  this challenge finally gave me the push I needed to make it a reality-

I collect little bottles, that is to say that whenever one crosses my path I squirrel it away, waiting for inspiration to make it into something new. Most have become potion bottles.but these two have a different destiny

While surfing pinterest I came across a sand collector, someone who collects sand from all the beaches she visits, then I came across a bride who collected rainwater from her wedding day- that's when this idea popped into my head

For a wedding keepsake you could save confettie, rice, bird seed, glitter, petals from your bouquet, raindrops etc

For vacations or honeymoons in addition to sand you could collect small shells, pine needles, snow, soil, etc

3  My 2015 journal for the Documented Life Project in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by teag on: December 31, 2014 09:35:13 AM
Last year I created a coptic stitch journal to use for the Documented life project, this year the journal that has been recommended  is a much larger and out of my budget, so I once again opted to make my own, I used the perfect binding, 110# cardstock, and cardboard from a pizza box

4  Functional Art Aka DIY TV Antenna in Completed Projects by teag on: August 17, 2014 03:45:29 PM

I have been unemployed for a couple of years now so money is ridiculously tight, as such I have had
to down-size or eliminate Luxury items, Cable service being one of those items- I purchased $10 rabbit ear antenna That
got me 2 whole channels, three on a good day- so I hit the web and discovered this tutorial for an antenna  http://www.squidoo.com/make-this-powerful-hdtv-antenna-out-of-cardboard
I now get 29 channels and it didn't cost me a thing - made completely from things around the house

This is actually the second one I have made, I modified the design slightly- I changed the feet so it's more stable and
the arms that hold the "bow ties" to make it sturdier and finally place a hole at the bottom to allow the cable to
be run between the "bow ties" instead of off to the side of them.

Class:CoMC
House:Ravenclaw
Project Name:Starfish drawing

Brief Description:

I live two blocks away
from the Gulf of Mexico, home to the most beautiful sugar white sand beaches in
the world-

We are fortunate to have, just a couple of miles away, The Mote Marine Labratory
a facilitity commited to the preservation and protection of marine life-
it is a small labratory and aquarium that rehabs injured marine life with the intent of
releasing these creatures back into the Gulf of Mexico. It is open to the public with the goal
of educating the community about the wonderful marine life all around us.

Lately the local news stations has been running stories about deformed and dead Starfish
that keep washing up on shore by the hundreds- Scientist at the Mote Marine labratory has discovered the source of these
deformaties and deaths are due to a parasite but they have yet to discover a solution to stop these
parasites from infecting the starfish population- They fear if a solution isn't discovered soon starfish may  become extinct, and this situation is not unique to this area. Starfish all over the globe are being affected.  In 2010/2011 deformed and dead starfish were discovered in Britain and California. it appears to be a world wide epidemic.

I have decided to bring awareness to this situation by creating a drawing of some these unique and wonderful sea creatures
