1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: Please help identify this charming sewn object... on: May 26, 2013 04:21:48 PM
It is for rolls!
And it is a souvenir piece.  The little roosters are traditional Portuguese folk art and they are on EVERYTHING over there. They are most popularly seen as little carved wooden figurines.

OH MY GOD! So awesome! you have no idea.

EEEEEEEEEEEEE! I love this shirt! I love #9, and I've only seen a few Doctor Who crafts featuring him. Brilliant!

He is my favorite! Much more of a mister sexy pants than the two more recent.  Plus when he got angry it was actually scary, unlike 10 who was just cute and 11 that is the most manic and silly of the three.

I have been meaning to watch some of the OLD stuff, but I doubt any will take away my love of 9.

I will say that after making this top I googled "o doctor! my doctor!" and was delighted to find that I am not the only person to marry these two.  There is even a rewritten version of the poem specifically for The Doctor. Great minds and all that.

Cant find my camera so here are a couple phone pics and the stencil image I created in Illustrator! Enjoy.

I cut this stencil out of freezer paper using my silhouette machine [I FREAKING love that machine].

5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: What should I do with a BUNCH of WHITE YARN?! on: May 08, 2011 03:47:59 PM
Dye the yarn.  Wink

Totally agree.
Although I do love a nice white throw blanket.  And one of my favorite throws is a simple knitted cotton.  It is like cuddling in an old loved sweater.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Whedonverse Swap round 6 gallery on: April 21, 2011 03:38:04 PM
Wow, that got there faster than I expected! Did you find the tin of tea, Silvana? It was tucked into the box with the tea wallet (though now I'm paranoid that I didn't send it!)

Yes I got it! I must have set it aside when I was taking the photos. I tried some of the tea and it was soooo tasty!

I am glad you liked everything!

Two things:
1. Be envious fellow swapper!
2. This finalized my decision to send a second package in a couple weeks with two main items I had hoped to make and did not have time [of course the first time I sign up for a craft in months we end up staring a major renovation project a week later]

Sarabunny sent me a super awesomely awesome package and I received today!

First is the prettily packaged items! all gold and shiny!

First thing I opened are these AMAZING shoes! She likes to paint tennis shoes and since I don't wear them she made me some flats.  They fit perfect by the way!

They are inspired by the episode of Firefly when River is having her crazy moment with the branch/gun.  Which is one of my favorite scenes, it was done so well. Also if you look REAL close there is a quote written in the branch.
"It isn't what you think, its just an object"

Next is a whole fun tea themed pile of goodies!
Spike tea wallet!

Mug sporting Billy's awesome 'stache from the soup kitchen. [literally my favorite moment of the entire show!]

Shiny new Australia mug rug!

Then there is this super cool mister pointy necklace!

My very own Saffron dolly!  This is so cute and detailed! I love it!

And finally extras!! Buffy comic! Fan girl lovin Twilight magnets and pretty Wash inspired fabric for crafting.

Ridiculous right?  The whole thing is just too awesome!

Sarabunny just want to let you know that I meant what I wrote in the note in your package about most likely sending a little something extra when I have a chance!

Ah nesting dolls! Sooo awesome!
9  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Whedonverse Swap round 6 (SIGNUP 3/2/11 - 3/14/11; SENDOUT 4/14/11) on: April 12, 2011 05:05:18 AM
While I am not having craft failures, I am rife with life failures.  But I am bound and determined to send by the due date!!! Hopefully no one decides to bug me on my birthday tomorrow cause I have set it aside as a "nothing matters but crafts" day. Smiley

Gah! So I feel like a slug because I have not touched my swap crafts since I last checked in.  I am getting back to work this weekend though.
Its my fault for joining a swap while simultaneously starting my first business.

I must ask - this wouldn't perhaps be a business selling River dolls? If so, please pm me where to go to order one!

No a business doing graphic and web design.  But I think I would be willing to make River Dolls by request if you are interested.  PM me.
