1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Voodoo Doll Costume on: October 31, 2009 07:53:55 AM
A couple years ago I saw a posting by mento_bug for a Voodoo Doll Costume she had made (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=217085.0). I fell in love and tried to make it last year, however having an epic fail with actual burlap it never turned out. So this year was round two and I am in love with my costume Smiley I can't wait to wear it out!

To create this dress I altered a simplicity pattern to fit my needs, what was so wonderful about it was that it was on sale for 1 dollar Grin.

The fabric was given to me by a stupendous friend iota1617 for free (thank you), it is a natural muslin which work MUCH better then the burlap.

The heart is made of out a red vinyl. which I glued to the dress with some permanent fabric glue. I then did some simple stitch detailing with embroidery thread and finally stabbed my heart :-P. The needles are quilters needles that have a flat long back, I glued them to the inside of the dress leaving the pointy part out which I covered with yellow felt beads I bought from Etsy.

This is probably my favorite thing I have made in a loooong time. I am in love.

THANKS FOR LOOKING! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE'S COSTUMES THIS YEAR!!! <3

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Pattern Help - Pattern Similar to This (SinDoll Dress)? on: February 21, 2009 07:51:41 AM
So I am completely in love with the shape of this dress posted by SinDoll, however I am a terrible pattern maker, especially if it has darts. I was wondering if anyone knows a pattern that is similar to this or a tutorial I could follow? I have been searching through the internet for a few days now, but I just can't seem to find anything. Basically I am looking for a fitted pencil dress pattern! Any help would be appreciated. Below is a link to the post where I saw SinDoll's lovely dress!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / tutus and tshirt (: on: April 17, 2008 12:50:15 PM
Here is a mix of completed projects / reconstruction that I did!

Outfit - the tutu is a bit crazy from being in my car, but it was made from scratch and the top was reconstructed with some cut raw edges and corset back!

Back of tshirt, a little weird shaped since I was standing weird -_- but you get the picture Smiley

Hanes underwear tutu! I sewed the layers right onto the underwear so that my butt is nice and contained Smiley

Purple and Green Smiley

Close up of the underwear as a waistband!
