2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Santa's Helper Swap on: December 05, 2013 04:01:51 PM
Hey- sorry we didn't do this one guys. We didn't have enough interest Sad Maybe next year? Maybe we could do a few throughout the year to prepare for Christmas 2014. I really liked this swap because I don't really care for the ongoing swaps either, they DO get confusing. I also like the 'surprise' of this kind of swap. Smiley
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: 2013 Winter Holiday Craft List - What are you making? on: November 08, 2013 06:19:30 PM
I have some homemade soaps... they came out of the mold really soft, so they look squashy.  I was hoping to give them for grownups, but the stars are almost unrecognizable and some of the teddy bears are melted looking.  I could give them to my BiL cause he likes horror except they are rose scented.  Sigh.

Starbucks coffee bottles... hoping to fill them with some white inexpensive something and make them snowmen for neighbor and teacher gifts.

I want to give my husband a galaxy shirt a la pintrest.  He likes tiedye and space, so it looked like a double win.  Also I am trying to perfect a homemade wax seal recipe.  He loves to send old fashioned letters.  I made him two seals to use on envelopes, but I haven't figured out how to shape my "wax" with a wick into the stick shape.

Have a brilliant idea for my nephews, but no sewing skills.

My girls and my sister I haven't got firm plans.  I thought about a mini Polly Pocket thing with Altoids for the girls.   My sister lurks here so I can't talk too much on the forums.  =D

Any input is welcome.  =D

For the soaps: rebatch them & make new ones

For the starbucks snowmen: Make a set of two- One with hotchocolate mix & The other with mini marshmallows

For Idea for nephews: Join the ongoing Christmas gift swap, or personal swap with a someone who sews?

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Santa's Helper Swap on: October 23, 2013 11:20:48 AM
Yeah, I seen that one. That's SORT of what I had in mind... I want to do a regular craftswap, not an ongoing one. Also, I thought it could be like ... My son is 2.5- likes cars, green, trains, etc. he could use ___ & ____. & make it more of a 'surprise' of what will be received for the gift list.

I've been in one before, so really this would be Round #2?

Here's the one I was in before- http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=260803.0#axzz2iZR49fh3

I just want to do some crafts for someone else's gift list! Help knock out some presents for my gift list & yours! ALL WHILE Giving that extra motivation to do that holiday gift crafting on our own lists!  Let's help each other out... I'd organize. I was thinking send-outs would have to be last week in November, at the absolute latest... As far as swap size, I like the points system... I was thinking maybe a 5-7 point swap? Nothing too ambitious, but still productive enough to help with holiday gifts.

-Of course, open to all winter holiday gift lists...

Anyone interested?
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: FIESTA Birthday Party! on: March 16, 2013 12:15:12 AM

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Team Umizoomi Party FOOD Ideas??? on: March 15, 2013 03:27:10 AM
I am planning my little guy's 2nd birthday party. He is IN LOVE with Team Umizoomi...Millie, Bot, Geo, Umicar, etc

There aren't any licensed bday gear in the stores, but there are some ideas on nickjr.com ... I have my plans for everything.. except food.

The only thing I can think of would be to do triangular sandwiches, "pattern power" fruit kebobs, square pretzels, "sphere" cheeseballs.. colored deviled eggs [i was going to use that as the oval shape, but ya know eggs arent really oval].... idk?! HELPPPPP!!

Basically, I'm going for the team umizoomi "math" aspect of it [shapes, colors, numbers].

SOOOO I am looking to you all for some help. I'm trying to think of clever names for the things too. OR I will just end up with "SHAPES & COLORS ZONE" aka food and a "UMICAR REFUEL ZONE" aka drinks lol.

If anyone can help, thanks in advance!
