Yay, I received my wonderful package from Yellie today! what can I say, it was a total spoilerama!

everything together:

the beautiful "poet's necklace" Yellie made for me using sterling silver, swarovski, and a cool bottle cap pendant with poetry, posey, definitions from an old dictionary, she really got me here!

a soothing eye pilllow with lavender and flax seed, can be heated in microwave, home-grown lavender is amazing

last but not least, some cable-knitted fingerless gloves, I have wanted these for a long time, she even made up the pattern just for me, these are done with Moda Dea "surf and turf"

Thanks again, Yellie, you really spoiled me! I love everything!

15  Inspired Owl in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Prickly Venus on: December 13, 2007 09:43:05 AM
Here is an owl I made, it was inspired by the owls made by wibit , although I did not follow her pattern. Thanks wibit!

He's shy , and likes to hide in plants.

He is made of various colors of wool-ease, safety eyes, and polystuffing, using the standard principles of amigurumi.

16  News Flash! Totoro Found Rummaging In Woman's Yarn Bag! in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Prickly Venus on: December 10, 2007 04:09:13 PM
I just want to warn everyone that several Totoro have been making random attacks on the yarn bags of private, upstanding citizens. Please don't panick, just toss them a few acorns, and they will eventually leave.

I can see from the USPS.com that yellie received my package yesterday. She is a busy student, and this is the end of the semester, so I am going to take the liberty of posting what I made for her.

This is the main thing she wanted, a beret-style hat for her soon-to-be dreads. This one is done in Patton's soy-wool stripes. (used soy since silk was out for vegetarian reasons)

i ended up having enough yarn to make hand/wrist warmers as well, so I did, here they are:

I also sent her a little pincushion:

She also got some European licorice, but I didn't take a photo of that. I hope she is happy and warm and doing very well in her final exams!!!!!!! Go Yellie!

18  The Devil You Know.......... a hat for dad in Crochet: Completed Projects by Prickly Venus on: December 04, 2007 11:05:24 AM

This is a hat I made for my dad for the holidays, he is follicularly challenged, so his head gets cold easily. I didn't use a pattern, but was inspired by all the silly hats I have seen on Craftster, so I credit all the hat makers for inspiration. I used Lion wool-ease for the main color, with a little knit picks red merino wool for the horns.

19  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap 3 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Prickly Venus on: December 03, 2007 05:47:22 PM
Yayness.............dragonslair's stocking arrived in my po box today...........yes, it is a big po box.......

everything all together............totally cat certified and approved..............

Everything is appreciated and will be used! I especially love the pincushions and needle roll! I wanted those muchly. Take note of the small, blue croceted square ornament, it is a replica of a blanket that was donated to The Binky Patrol, in my honor! wow!!! (www.BinkyPatrol.org) I have to say, that is probably the best gift of all!
The cookies, coke in a glass bottle, and nuts remind me of christamses as a kid, very nice touch, and the scarflet is perfect for arizona. Bravo, dragonslair, I don't know how you do everything that you do!
