31  Felt Camel and Horse in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by critterpants on: October 24, 2007 09:57:00 AM
A while ago I started to explore sewing small toys with felt.  These are two of my creations.  I got my inspiration from a book called Sewing Tiny Toys.  The limbs on both the horse and the camel are jointed and are movable.  Each one is about 4 inches high at the tallest part.  They are completely handstitched and stuffed.  Enjoy the pictures and let me know what you think.

I just got a package in the mail from Banga!  She made me a bunch of handmade cards with envelopes.  They are all so wonderful.  My husband says that he can't wait to see who I send them to.  (I love stationary, but sometimes tend to hoard it instead of sharing the love...)  Here are a couple of scans of some of the cards so that you can get a taste of my good fortune.

The flower design in the first card and the designs on the card directly below (as well as the bird cards) is actually raised!  I love the texture.

My friend is pregnant and I think I will use one of the bird cards for her baby shower.

Thank you so much Banga!

Thanks for the inspiration.  I have never made a piece of clothing before, but I just had to try this.  I got a polo shirt from the thrift store and made the cute top.  It turned out really well.  I wore it to work the other day and got lots of compliments.  Here is a before picture (complete with sad/unattractive face) and an after picture to show the change.

Today I went to the mail and was delighted to find this beautiful calorimetry from Poerava!  It fits perfectly and I love it.  The colors are  just what I had in mind.  Thank you so much.  Here it is including some action shots.
