This dress was a shower curtain I found at a garage sale, I actually thought it was fabric when I first picked it up, its not the waterproofy kind,but it had little paris scenes and a cute black swirl on the top and bottom, again no before pics but here is the after:

I made this before aislinsmomee's great little tute(used it on the next one!), wish I hadnt cause I kinda messed up the bodic part so thats why theres a button... oh well it still looks cute

I teired the skirt part and I think that looks real cute, I made a matching one for little sis but she's napping, so no pics, and I got her bodice right! Ok one last pic: the back


And this next dress is a reconed skirt I found at a garage sale. It was a womens drawstring linen skirt with great detail at the bottom,
So I cut off the bottom half and then used the drawsting for the ties in the triangles, (thanks for the inspiration aislinsmomee)
Anyway I used the back of the skirt where there was a casing for the drawstring, but I used it for the elastic, and then just gathered the skirt and attatched it.
Wish I had taken before and progress pics, I really like how it turned out! Ok so on to pics.

So i told my 4 yo daughter i would let her pick out fabric for a great spinny dress for spring, then i had to amend this my saying i get final 'yeah or nay'! Been there?
So we agreed on this springy stripe, which i planned on making a circle dress out of...whoops cant do that, it will have wonky stripes going every which way, so then i had to do panels instead but it turned out cute. I made the back open and cross a little cause i avoid buttons or really button holes more specifically like the plague so here it is:
Oh and my daughter saw a beautiful little girl with her hair all in braids and she wanted it too, i tried to explain it would look a little different on her but...

i promice it actually lays flat in the back, its just the way shes holding it..
So with the leftover fabric i made her some Capri's and was trying to figure out what to make for a top when i came across this on gymboree:

I found a womans red and white striped shirt at the goodwill and it had a mini pocket on the chest and so i knew i could make something cute out of it.
I usually can get a whole outfit for my 2 yr old out of one womens shirt but because of the placement of the pocket... anyway too much info,
so here is the outfit:
i turned the chest pocket into the back pocket of pants and used an old hoodie of mine to make a hoodie for her with a cute little heart!

Ok this outfit was made form an old shirt of mine that i never wore that fades from light to dark pink.( why did i buy that???) I sized down the top and then used the rest of the shirt for the skirt part. I didnt finish the bottom of the shirt or sleeves but i think it looks like it was meant to be that way... so it was. The pants are from some teeny bopper pjs i got at a garage sale, resized and scraps used to cover the logo on the front and back with hearts. I think this turned out cute...

Ive been making my girls outfits from my old shirts or quarter finds at the garage sales. And this one is so far one of my favorites.
The top of the shirt is made from an x-large womens shirt with a crown on the front, its funny how a shirt i would never wear turns into such a cute top for a 2 yr old. The bottom of the top and the pants are from a long sleeve dark grey womens shirt, the sleeves are the pants and most of the shirt turned into the skirt part. The front of the crown shirt it what i turned into sleeves and the back i cut into strips to make the ruffles  for the pants and top. Ok so here it is...

Ok so I am a complete self taught sewing novice and I really want to make a dress from some knit shirts i have, ok so I have actually cut all the pieces and it ready to sew. the deal is, i dont know if I need to do anything special to sew on knit, t-shirt material.
I have a $20 singer i bought at a garage sale with the needle that was in when i bought it. It has sewn seeral things just fine. They were all mens shirts for cheytown's dress 
One was a womens and it had stretch so i dont know if that means it will be fine on stretchy knit too or what.
Thanks for any advise you can give me!
I have been so inspired and i just dont want to ruin this cute dress in my head!!
