51  I love my ugly chair...but... (11 days) in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by RockstarMom on: December 04, 2007 12:13:54 PM
It needs to be reupholstered. BAD. My dad gets here in 11 days and my husband comes home in just under 2 weeks. I want it done before they get home. It's a good decent chair, but the upholstery has really taken a beating from people spilling things on it.

About how much fabric do you think I'd need to cover this chair? I have never reupholstered, I think I just want to cover it and not bother removing the old stuff. I think I want it removable so I can wash it later. It's a small lay-z-boy that reclines.

Any idea?

52  What I did during last Deployment in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by RockstarMom on: December 04, 2007 10:08:56 AM
Whenever my husband leaves for Deployment he comes home to something redone in the house! This time it was our boring "housing white" room I redid. No before pics on the new comp and I don't feel like searching for the disk that has the pics on it, but there was nothing there before. It's all new Ikea (yay!) furniture in the room. We did have this nice expensive carved solid oak bedroom set, but it was too suburban-looking for me. I tried sponging one wall (the one behind the bed) 1st- it looked like well....it looked like a used ....not going to say it, it's gross... then tried painting the opposite walls mauve.... EWWW.... finally decided on this!
Merlot red and Toasted Apple Crumble!
I feel so relaxed sleeping in there (when it's actually CLEAN)

Here's the bed side of the room:

53  My 1st Stenciled Shirt- Bloo in Stenciling: Completed Projects by RockstarMom on: December 01, 2007 11:58:01 AM
I made my 1st stenciled shirt(well, actually my youngest son's onesie) today. The eyes are a bit shaky, but I think I can fix it. May have worked better if it were bigger and without so much tiny detail? It's a bit fuzzy on the outside also, but I still haven't ironed it as it's still wet. Will that fuzziness go away?

54  Soft fleece AIO diapers! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by RockstarMom on: November 28, 2007 08:58:05 AM
(I think this is the right place to post this?)

I made this a bit back, but they are by far my favorite diapers that I made my baby boy. It's the Cuddlebuns pattern, but I added an extra piece of loop velcro to tighten the waist area.
So far this design fits him much better than the pattern I used for my daughter w/ PUL. He has super-skinny little legs and  her old dipes didn't fit him well. Sad
They are Alpine/Polar fleece on the outside, microfleece against the skin on the inside and the soaker on the inside is 3 pieces of organic hemp fleece ( I LOVE that stuff!) I was stash busting my fleeces and I had to take apart these other diapers that my friend started to make(but the design didn't fit lil man) and take the soakers from that.  Black Polar fleece- not easy to draw a design on- even with a white fabric pencil.

Sorry for the blurriness of the pictures.

55  Re: Show me your unappreciated etsy work! in Selling Crafts on Etsy.com by RockstarMom on: November 27, 2007 08:15:17 PM
Of course this is my (and all my IRL friends) favorite, but yet no one has bought it. Sad
It's a recycled, reversable, reusable shopping bag.

Maybe my pix just suck? Huh

56  Re: Measuring yourself for a custom pattern? in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by RockstarMom on: November 27, 2007 06:29:43 PM
The husband is going to help me try and figure this out. I have to print it out because trying to read it on the screen is confusing me more than helping. Sad
So THIS:

is the side view, right?

57  Retro Diamonds! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by RockstarMom on: November 25, 2007 05:30:02 PM
I made this bag and wallet for the wife of my husband's friend. I really didn't hink I'd be able to make the wallet match because I had bought out all the material (or so I'd thought) when I bought it for the bag, but I found more in my Black Friday (and Saturday) shopping trip!! WOOT!. The bag is my pattern, but the wallet I modified the Long Wallet Tute from the tutorial list. I didn't like the way it fit everything, so I altered the pocket sizes. I still haven't found my buttonhole foot for my machine and I forgot to sew velcro on it, but I think the button with ribbon closure is cute.  Smiley

What do you think?

Oopsy, forgot to add these!!

59  Felt cookies! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by RockstarMom on: November 18, 2007 04:07:21 PM
I was inspired by this thread-
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=208611.0;topicseen

DD's 3rd Bday is New Year's Eve and she loves to play pretend. This is going to go great with her tea set (that she makes her daddy and brothers play with her).

I just need to think of what other things to make for her Birthday.
Any suggestions?

60  Ugly stained jeans make.... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by RockstarMom on: November 09, 2007 09:33:37 PM

.... an not-so-ugly bag.....

ROFL!

Well, DH says this one is too ugly to keep though...
Maybe I'll sell it to someone who likes Daisies? His mom is the one who gave me the daisy fabric....20 friggin' yards of it!! I do NOT like daisies, but I felt it worked with the bag! Smiley
