[amazing]

I know it's nothing glamorous or exciting, but I am so proud of it. Drawing is not my forte, but it's a Req for my degree @ college. My professor stacked up a bunch of stainless steel pots, pans, etc and told us to take one outside, put it in the sun and draw it. I got a late start (tummy ache and I was in the lav for a bit) and still got it done today- the only one who got my composition done.

My professor actually was shocked and told me it was amazing.  Yeah, I confessed to him the class before that drawing was NOT my favorite thing to do and only a tool I was using to become better at & help plan out my 3 dimensional art.

So, it isn't the best of pics because some of the heavier shading reflected the flash from my camera (damned reflective graphite!) and not using a flash made the quality of the piece worse! In the background is a shadow of the portcullis at the museum entryway and the sidewalk.

Anywho, it's a stainless OXO measuring cup and I sat it on the concrete surround "bench" outside our school's museum, sat myself on the ground, pumped up Aerosmith on the iPod and got busy. (I didn't finish off the background really all that great, I think I may crop it off since it's not that wonderful)

Again, quite proud of my work. Comments are appreciated.



So.... since I was able to finish it, he wants me to have another one done by Tuesday for homework! He's helping me put my portfolio together to get into a private college for my BFA. I think I will choose something more interesting to me than a measuring cup! 

Sorry for the lateness on posting pics from the swap I did with Rira. I start college in the morning (after being out of school for almost a decade!) and it's been crazy here.

Rira made me a spice rack that I had one similar to on my wists.
I finally made labels for some mason jars I had around the house and put a lot of my bulk stuff in them. I need more as I just found a bag of poppy seeds in the back of my cabinet!

Crocheted hot plates/pads... I think I was watching Hub play Zelda:Twilight Princess WAAAAAAY too much while I was sick. It started effecting my dreams and crafting!


The apron I made her inspired by one on her wist, as modeled by Hub! (lol.... I can make that man do anything!)






And a couple extras I saw for her before the swap even started.


She did PM me that she loved them and actually used it the day she got it and got it messy before she could snap pics.

My littlest turned 2 this month and I didn't decide on how to do the cake until 2 days before the party.  The wasn't really into anything except balls until about 2 days before his party. Then he felt he LOVE for Elmo. It took me 5 hours to trim all the cupcakes to an even size and then pipe the entire thing. The bottom portion of Elmo is actually a 9" cake I cut in half and layered since I ran out of cupcake papers.
I did fix the bottom of Elmo's face after I took the pics and also for some odd reason the cupcakes on the right didn't want to fit together.... then I ran out of chocolate frosting for the outside.... twice... so said "$%#& IT!" and didn't bother trying to cover the empty spots on the side. Then when I went to write, 'Happy Birthday ******" !' on the top cloud..... the gel RAN! GAAAH!! Good thing I could cover it with sprinkles!

Even with it not being perfect it got me a job making a cake later next month for a neighbor's birthday! Yay!








It tasted yummy (even though I didn't eat any until the next day- I didn't want cake after working on it so long)! Butter cake(boxed! eek!) and butter cream icing (homemade) for the colored spots and I used chocolate funfetti icing for the outside.

For the IYP9 swap I made Mojen Adam and Jamie dolls (from Mythbusters) I stupidly forgot to take pics of them in their glasses (duh)! They both have lab coats and polyclay glasses (not pictured, but you can pretend they are there). I'm pretty proud of myself.

The feet are weighted so they can stand on their own.





Amazingly the hat is the one and only thing that actually worked out the very 1st time I made it.
I didn't have any black jean material, but I had some dark navy jean material- well, you use whatcha got right!?

I am recovering from a sinus infection and bronchitis (yay, love when my allergies are so bad I get sick. :|), but I am here to quick post pics of the saaaaaaaaa-wwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeet package I got!

Extra Goodies for my kiddos!

I am still working steady on mine and recovering actually pretty quickly from being sick. I've already PM'd my partners & superhooker w/ a status update 2 days ago. Yesterday the baby had a very high fever so nothing got done. But my receovery from the sinus infection and bronchitis is going steady (pray, knock on wood, whatever that I don't get sick all over again!) Oh and rira has been in contact recently w/ me about her swap stuff, you can mark her off your list of people who need to contact you if that's ok?

I do have a semi-spoiler for Mojen though! Yes, I ended up mod-ing ghilie's poppet pattern (it's blatant) and 'why no head?' You may ask..... Um can't give away the WHOLE sha-bang before she receives it!

Notice all my HP behind the headless poppet? LOL!

I am not the plant person in my family (my hubby is). I try, but usually I kill everything green I touch.
My son planted apple seeds in my backyard garden when we moved into this house a couple years back, my husband thinks this is an apple tree (which would be amazing that it grew! )

Anyone know? If it's just a weed I'll cut it down and out of the garden, but it looks like a tree to them.

I tried to get several pics, the main stem looks like a tree, but I'm not sure.

Some of the pics I see on my google searches look like my tree. Should I tie up the tree to a pole for it to grow straight? Right now it's growing out, not up

Since we found out we are going to be living in our current home for the next 2 1/2 yrs we have decided to tackle our ugly garden out back.... it used to be a jungle. I used to have pics, but they are on my crashed laptop. So image a wildy weedy overgrown jungle. It's bigger than the whole of my yard. My husband had a "plan" for it to make it look nice. We want to make stairs going up it and line it with all the rocks that were "growing" (seriously, there are more rocks up in there than anything) in the garden.
So we have like 2+ large totes like this of rocks. (this is the HUGE tote box) The dirt is from when my youngest escaped the house and dug up my veggie garden.


And here is the garden, partially cleaned up (this is actually looking GOOD)


He has to do the weed killer up in there, cut down 2 of the overgrown bushes on the left and then dig up the old roots for the bushes that were in there. (we have an allergy issue with them) Then about 2 weeks after that we can do work up in there and we are going to plan a garden, a useful veggie garden at that, roses (since they aren't wind pollinated and won't aggravate our sinuses) and some other stuff that won't irritate us.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO my question is this (sorry it was just long winded) How would I paint all those rocks white to line the path of the steps? Just latex paint and a sealer? Should we use whitewash? Doing whitewash seems like such a p.i.t.a, but if it'll hold better, we'll do it. Otherwise I have white latex paint here and could do that then seal it?

I am making some amazingly simple market/produce bags for a swap I am doing. I forget where I got the pattern, something-n-cream?? I made myself one a bit ago and I LOVE it. It actually holds a lot more than I have in it in that picture. I have used it 3 times since I made it.




It had a head of iceberg, bunch of bananas, head of cauliflower, 2 onions, 2 red bell peppers and scallions.
