I love that saying...I can't even remember the movie but anytime we see something with a turtle on it we say it...LOL....Here is a dress I made my daughter to mimic a pillowcase dress out of some turtle fabric I found at JoAnn Fabrics...
What do you think? Is she turtle-ly enough? hehe(please disregard the stuff on her face)
Here is a halloween costume I made my daughter when she was almost 3. I used 2 green gloral wreath forms and covered them in fabric. Covered cardboard for the middle and cut out 4 holes and put yarn through them. Made 2 shoulder straps to connect the buttons and glued buttons all over her black turtleneck and pants. Her hair bow also had a big button on it. Everyone commented and loved this costume and I have yet to make one that eveyone likes as well.
I love this tutorial. I'm new to sewing also. I had to keep looking at the tutorial but once I was able to comprehend(yeah I need a light bulb to go off) it was like yeah!!!! I've made 2 so far and plan on making a lot more. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
This is the 3rd dress I've ever made. I used a pattern for everything except the back and the bias tape around the arms, top and back closure. I also created a button hook out of fabric on the back top to close the back. I also added a belt around the middle because it didn't quite look right without it.
This is the 2nd dress I've ever made. Thanks to Cheytown's tutorial to turn a mens button down top into a dress. I will definitely be doing more of these. Thanks Cheytown!!!!!! I didn't do the blox pleats around the bottom but I did try them on the top. Maybe next time.
I have been so inspired by all of you that I decided I would try and sew some dresses for my daughter. Here is the first dress I have ever made. She is 5 years old and I have always wanted to make her clothes but never had the nerve. Thanks everyone for the push.
