1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / What kind of fabric is this - help! on: July 31, 2009 08:19:32 AM
I'm trying to find this fabric/material but I have no idea what its called.

When I was a kid, 80's-90's, I remember that there were craft kits with pencil cases or jackets made out of this fabric and you could use markers to color on them.  It's thin and seems like a combination of nylon, paper, and plastic.  I don't think it had any kind of weave to it, so it was more like a paper type of thing.  I have no idea!!

I want to make bike seat covers out of this fabric, but first I have to find it.  Any help or guesses is appreciated!  Thanks.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Aqua and Red Wedding Crafts on: July 01, 2009 12:09:14 PM
My wedding was 6/6/09 and I found a lot of inspiration all over the web.  I found and totally fell in love with the aqua and red color theme.  I mixed in birds because I just like them.

This was crafted by a sister and my grandma, but it was too cute not to include!

I bought the cupcake tower online and covered it with paper and ribbon around the edges.    I used a vanilla cupcake recipe and buttercream for the cupcakes.  I found a red velvet cocoa cake recipe with cream cheese frosting for my top cake.  It was also my first time working with fondant, the cake wasn't flawless but it looked good enough (and tasted awesome)!

I stamped the napkins with the same bird that was on our programs.

I made the accessory that I wore in my hair. Hot glue is amazing!

The invitation that I designed with my mom.  She, my dad, and 2 of my 4 sisters actually stamped and printed everything.  I love my family!

Speaking of my family, this is my sisters and I.  We made all the bridesmaid bouquets (7) and sewed the sashes.

Thats about it! If anyone is curious, all my professional photos are on Picasa.   http://picasaweb.google.com/sibelingx
