Tell me what you think? Please.  This is a self drafted pattern.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Sewing for others on: May 06, 2009 11:42:51 AM
I sew for myself and my kids, more of a hobby and a great stress reliever for me.  I have some people at work asking if I will sew for them.  Problem - I will - they want a price.  I have no clue how to price - any one have a suggestion for this?  Some sort of formula to figure things out - with the economy the way it is, I could use a few extra bucks, but I also understand money is tight for most others as well.

BTW - If I posted in the wrong place, forgive me, just seemed like this would be a good place to start.

Thanks all!!
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Diaper bag crazy! on: February 16, 2009 02:18:46 PM
I happen to have a co-worker that is pregnant and is camo crazy!  So in order to fulfill her desires for a cool camo diaper bag, I put together the following.

This bag was such a pain to make.  I reworked a McCall's pattern to remove the flap, add a zipper and changed the strap.  I also added some d-rings so the mom can attached keys or such things.  On top of that, the camo and black lining are both a heavy canvas and really tried my patience and the new machines abilities.

Hope she likes it!  Thank goodness she is having boy, can't imagine making a camo bag for a girl.

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sick day + boredom = Cute Spring Purse on: February 16, 2009 01:57:33 PM
So, went to work, came home ill, got bored, created a new bag.  All in all, think that equals a good day!   Roll Eyes

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Homecoming dress complete on: November 05, 2007 11:14:14 AM
Ok, this is my 1st post.  I have been lurking around for awhile and think everyone that posts to these boards are some of the most talented folks I've ever seen.

This is my dd's homecoming dress, sewn from a Butterick pattern, with a few alterations to the style.  She received so so many compliments on this dress!  I am very proud of this work and wanted to share.

The bracelet was made from a tut I saw on here, but can not find the link.  My apologies for not being able to credit the correct creator.

Thanks for looking!
