My boyfriend's college friend has a girlfriend in a sorority. And her sorority is holding a Masquerade Ball on Saturday. I knew right away that I wanted to make our masks.

I went with the color teal because it's the same color as my old prom dress. I'm not sure how happy I am with the turn out on my mask...but I really like the bf's.

I decided to make my Mother's Day cards this year rather than buying a generic one.

I made three of them. One for my mom, grandma, and another for my best friend who miscarried last year <3

Since my boyfriend's moved away to go to school I've found myself incredibly bored and on the edge of another bout of depression (not *just* because of his move, but it didn't help). So to keep myself company and to keep my sad self from picking fights I picked up embroidery.

Here's my first project fresh off the hoop. The two lovebirds are a pattern from sublime stitching and I freehanded the shading in the wings, the branch, and the hearts



The only thing I'm displeased about it that I changed my mind about a placement of hearts and when I pulled the thread out the dye was left behind



I added our initials...Woodrow and Kayleigh

And last is something I made for my friend and cafe supervisor Nate since he was leaving us for another store   His last day was Halloween so I made them based on his costume which was his superhero Afrodisiac XD a 70's sexy gangster superhero complete with white platforms, chest hair, "gold" chains and "brass" knuckles :p

I decided to be a giant cupcake for halloween



I took about 3 yards of tulle and added elastic on both sides of it so that it would hold onto the cardboard and my body.

I used cardboard and tin foil to create the tin. To fasten it to my body, I took 4 pieces of ribbon and attached it to the cardboard so that it would tie over my shoulders.

Finally I stuffed it with fiberfill (used mostly for pillows and stuffed toys) to make it nice and fluffy.

The red beret is my cherry on top :3

My costume was a hit at work, everyone loved it!! My new nickname is cupcake

I'm going to be baking a cake for my boyfriend's birthday at the end of the month and I'm going to be adding a lot of detail to it with the decorations on it.

What can I use to do the detailing with besides those cake deco gels?

In my experience they're usually runny and/or they don't cooperate well and makes things look messy :/

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly thanks

I spent all of Saturday and about an hour today making a skirt with matching hair bows and other random accessories.

It's got a fully elastic waistband. I really struggled on making everything look very professional but I think I did a good job :3 It might look too wide but that's because it's in the lolita style and it needs to fit a petticoat.

I'm working on a project for a friend and she wants the stencil on a black bag, problem is she wants to use teal colored paint. I'm sure it's not going to show up very well.

My only idea to make it work is to use white paint first, then when it's completely dry, paint over it with the teal.

Any tips or ideas besides just using a lighter color? :3

I've heard several different things and I need to know for sure.

Is it best to wash the item to be stenciled before you stencil it?

And should you let it air dry or just heat dry it?

I would like to take my stenciling to another level and add other colors when they need to be ontop of something else (like if I was creating a face I'd need the base color of the face, then the white for the eyes, and then the black for the pupils) but am not sure how to do that without making it look messy.

Any pointers would be wonderful or if this has been posted about before, I could use help getting to that post <3
