This is the weirdest thread on craftster.  I love the mask.  It reminds me of that movie...  Ultraviolet.  ...and why are they calling it a swine flu.. swine can't even get it and it doesn't come from pigs... ??
they are calling it swine flu because it came from pigs. pigs, humans, and birds can all get the same flu virus. This particular strain of flu virus came directly from the pigs and have infected humans Smiley

it's beautiful!  and i've noticed that some dmc flosses do leave a bit of their dye behind when i'm stitching, mainly black and red.  i always prewash my fabrics first so it's not a wash or didn't wash issue.  however, when i rinse my project under cold water when i'm all done, none of the colors bleed and i guess the wee bit of dye left in the holes from the black and red threads goes away too......

i hope stitching keeps your mind off things, and i hope your boyfriend didn't move to far away that y'all can still visit.  being depressed is no fun at all, so i hope you have someone you can talk to locally if you need it......
I think my problem was that I didn't wash it. I didn't think it'd turn into a project that I loved so much since i was just testing the waters and I didn't feel like washing it if I was just going to throw it away. I definitely will for next time though :3

he's not toooo far. Some of his friends are even farther. It's just a difficult transition and I'm sure the feelings will pass soon. Thank you for your support :3

This turned out great! I love the branch you added. Maybe a Tide To Go pen would help with the bleeding?
Thanks! I was worried it'd look weird because the birds are at different height levels with their feet but it looks just fine haha. I think I will try a little bleach. It couldn't hurt Smiley

Very sweet.  Maybe if you can gently hand or machine wash the piece the dye will come out.

I started embroidering to cheer myself up and de-stress instead of diving into the chocolate.  Keeping my hands busy and being productive always makes me feel better.

Hope things look up for you soon.  Smiley
That's a good idea. I wonder if the thread bled because I didn't wash the fabric. I didn't think it would turn out so nice and just wanted to practice on a small piece hehe.

It is really soothing to do. And it keeps my mind busy too so that I can think positive things. Thank you :3

maybe touch the dyed spots every so slightly with a bleach pen or a q-tip dipped in a weak bleach solution. very cute. i love birds and your hearts fit very well.
Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely do that!

I love this pattern! I've used it so many times myself, but I really like what you did to change it up a bit. It turned out really well.

And I love the way you worked your initials in. Super cute!
Thank you! I really appreciate the compliment. I couldn't resist adding our initials :3
