The spring edition of International Quilt Festival in Chicago, now in its seventh year, annually attracts close to 20,00 quilt artists, aficionados, and collectors from around the continent. The show, sale, and quiltmaking academy features more than 1,000 quilts, textiles, and wearable art garments on display; more than 100 classes, lectures, and special events; and shopping at more than 400 booths selling quilts, fabrics, books, notions, crafts, patterns, machines, and sewing supplies, as well as antiques, home decor items, gifts, and accessories.
One of the most popular features within Festival is Make It University!™, a mixed-media pavilion featuring the arts of scrapbooking, rubber stamping, bookmaking, paper crafts, textile arts, painting, dyeing, and more. Developed in collaboration with "Cloth Paper Scissors®" magazine, Make It University!™ includes teaching showcases, workshop projects, vendors, artist studios, and special exhibits.
