1461  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 21st birthday theme ideas UPDATED! on: April 28, 2008 05:57:13 AM
hi im a long time lurker first time posting

im in the works of begining to plan my 21st birthday, its not until the 12th of january 2009 but i have to start now to book a venue otherwise its too hard to get one in summer.

im trying to work out a theme theres a few that ive considered but alot of them i think will be too hard to accomplish, its hard to get alot of decent party supplies over here.

i like rockabilly psycobilly rock n roll rock metal hardcore punk the 50s retro tiki hello kitty and many other different things

so far idea wise ive considered
rockabilly - sort of with a country undertone say at a barn type venue hire a rockabilly band
50s diner - hire a whurlitzer jukebox
retro tiki - have outdoors in a garden
luau - have at a venue near a pool

im welcome to any ideas or any elaborations on the ones mentiond above

i forgot to mention....
im trying to keep it grown up-ish... so nothing ill possibly regret one day lol
and it wil have lots of alcahol !!

i decided im probably going to just scale the party down and have it at home
because its in summer itll be outdoors in the evening
i want to do tiki luau theme... buttt
our yard is very.. un tropical.. lol and i dont think my mom would be happy with me ripping her yard apart
so any sugestions to make the yard look more nice garden than yard with a few ugly garden beds would be appreciated
