1  Sun Ray Shawl & Simple Knitted Bodice in Knitting: Completed Projects by missknitty on: October 15, 2007 10:40:55 AM
Got 2 for ya today. They've been finished, but I didn't get to take pics until today.

Sun Ray shawl (elann), in Du Store Aplakka Faerytale

I'm very proud of this one, for 2 reasons; it's my first lace AND I didn't make any mistakes along the way (a miracle, if you ask me!)

Simple Knitted Bodice, in Tilli Tomas Aspen/Flurries (this yarn is as soft as cashmere!)

PLease excuse the pics - I don't have the technique down for taking pics of myself, as you can clearly see.... It's still un-blocked, but I'll get to that this weekend, I think.

2  Re: Harry Potter Scarf Knit-Along? in Knitalongs by missknitty on: October 15, 2007 10:32:46 AM
I'm almost half-way on my Dark Mark scarf now, and this is surprisingly quick - Only a couple of hours done yesterday, so I'm thinking I might be able to finish tomorrow.  Cheesy

I haven't decided if I want to make the back plain black or try to copy the illusion knitting, only in intarsia or something...hmmm...

4  Re: Give me ideas for this cashmere in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by missknitty on: October 09, 2007 01:36:47 PM
Ok, so it's far from done, but here's a progress pic of the red cashmere (or should I say black cherry koolaid? Grin). I dyed 600yds red and 600 yds purple with koolaid... Cool  This is going to be sort of a stole creation for my mom, so we'll see how it turns out in the end. Depending on how much yarn I use, I might use another yarn in a contrasting color to create some edging or even a hood, but I haven't decided on that yet. Smiley

5  Re: New Stitch Diva Pattern/Glampyre sweater in Knitalongs by missknitty on: October 09, 2007 09:42:09 AM
Update on SKB # 2 (the first one will sadly have to be frogged and re-knit at some point). Knit in Tilli Tomas Aspen & Flurries, scored from Little Knits (does anyone else love their discounts, or what?!):

I had this yarn all over my livingroom one day (courtesy of the cats' nightly raid), and you can see how the cat(s) love expensive yarn... Roll Eyes

Here's a progress pic - I've put it down for a while now, so no speedknitting to get it done (stockinette gets boring). Wink I think I'll do the cabled border, too, as I'm not a fan of the moss stitch at the bottom of this sweater. I do plan on adding the pocket, but I have to add quite a few inches, too, since I apparently have a long torso as well. Smiley

I did add some short rows at the bust, which worked out well, and it's actually quite fitted, although it looks nothing like it laying out like that...hehe.

Yeah, I didn't take the bands into consideration at first, but looking at it now (see pics below) it seems ok. Even with stretching, I'm not getting the measurements quite right, and I have a slightly bigger gauge (1sts per 4 inches). Weird.

And now to the progress pics... Grin

9  Re: Questions for those who dye...cashmere! *update* in Dyeing: Discussion and Questions by missknitty on: September 25, 2007 02:54:52 PM
gallstones: I did come across that while googling, but all I could find on there was basically "let the pros do it"...

So, I'm on round 2 of ziplock dyeing, and it's going well. My only concern at this point is that the yarn has been/will be wet for a long time. It's going very well so far, though. Yay!

I did some in purple/grape too, but I haven't uploaded all the pics yet. Once I've double confirmed that this works (it took the color very well), I'll try to write up a pic tutorial, since there's not much out there on dyeing cashmere.

I finished this about a week ago. Obviously I made modifications to this (it's a present) and I knitted top-down in one piece (except the sleeves). Smiley
